Mark Sanchez Fired by FOX After Stabbing: Details

FOX Sports has revealed that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network. Mark was involved in a serious altercation while calling an NFL game in Indianapolis last month. He allegedly attacked delivery driver Perry Tole, who used a knife in self-defense.

The former quarterback and FOX Sports analyst was initially charged with three misdemeanors. Battery charges resulting in injury, public intoxication and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle were upgraded to felony charges. He was arrested on October 4 and immediately released on bond.

FOX reported, “We can confirm that Mark Sanchez is no longer with the network. There will be no further comment at this time,” according to TMZ.

The incident occurred after Mark called the Colts vs. Raiders football game. He allegedly attacked Perry after asking him to move his truck. Perry had parked his truck in an alley outside an Indianapolis bar. After Mark hit Perry in the face, the delivery driver retaliated, stabbing Mark several times in self-defense. Both received treatment at a local hospital.

In addition to criminal charges, Perry sued Mark, with FOX named as a defendant. He is seeking compensatory damages, punitive damages, costs and expenses of this action, including attorney’s fees. According to the lawsuit, Perry suffered severe “permanent disfigurement, loss of function, other physical injuries, emotional distress and other damages.”

FOX analysts Brady Quinn and Mark Schlereth have filled in for Mark since the October 4th incident. On November 5, FOX Sports announced Drew Brees has been hired as an NFL analyst. It’s unclear if he is Mark’s replacement. Mark worked for FOX Sports as a television analyst since 2021.

Mark’s final pretrial hearing is scheduled for December 2, and the jury trial begins on December 11.
