Princess Beatrice Gets New Royal Role After Dad Andrew’s Downfall

Princess Beatrice has had plenty to handle as her father, disgraced ex-prince Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, remains under public scrutiny.

Andrew’s situation intensified after King Charles stripped away his titles and directed him to move out of the Royal Lodge. That decision pulled old conversations about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and prostitutes back into the spotlight. Her mother, Sarah Ferguson, continues to support her through the family tension.

It also raised fresh questions about how Beatrice and Princess Eugenie plan to shape their own public roles. In the middle of all this noise, Beatrice recently stepped into a new role that puts more attention on her work.

Beatrice attended an Outward Bound event at St. James’s Palace, where the charity announced her new role as Deputy Patron. The group helps young people grow through outdoor programs that build confidence and push them to try new things. Beatrice has supported Outward Bound as a Trustee since 2019, so taking on a larger role felt expected.

She will serve alongside her uncle, Prince Edward, who now acts as the Royal Patron. Their partnership continues the work once led by the late Prince Philip, who supported the organization for many years until his passing.

Outward Bound CEO Martin Davidson gave a statement, saying, “With The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we’re embarking on a new chapter. One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives.”

The timing of Beatrice’s appointment stood out because her family remains in a difficult moment. The official record noted of stripping Andrew’s titles, “The King has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince.’”

Beatrice and Princess Eugenie get to keep their own titles, since a 1917 rules allow daughters of a sovereign’s son to retain them.

Beatrice also holds an important constitutional role. King Charles appointed her a Counsellor of State in 2022, which lets her handle official duties when needed.

She balances those responsibilities with life at home. She and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, raise their daughters, Sienna and Athena, and she helps care for his son, Christopher Woolf. Their children gained Italian noble status through Edoardo’s family.
