Welcome to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City! Over a year since it was first announced at BravoCon, the newest Housewives franchise is finally here, and let me tell you, dear readers. The wait was worth it. In the famous words of the Mormon prophet Brigham Young, who settled the Salt Lake Valley in 1847, “This is the place.”
I feel confident in saying the premiere episode was pretty well near perfect. (Which makes sense because, as one of the ‘Wives says of life in Salt Lake City, “Perfection is attainable!”) The last time we were graced with a first episode this good was back when Real Housewives of Potomac premiered in 2016. (Though the hype surrounding RHOP was comparatively much smaller at the time. Bravo even leaned into a full slate of ads asking “Where is Potomac?” ahead of the premiere. And it took seasons of under-the-radar perfection for the show to finally be respected today as the top-tier Housewives franchise it is.)
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City starts tonight. We will get to meet a whole new group of women in a new location and it’s exciting.
Even before the show started, there has been a lot of buzz around Mary Cosby because she married her step-grandfather. Yes, she married her grandma’s husband and I’m she will share more details with us as the show progresses. She also opened up about the situation with Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, which is super random, but I’m here for any sort of Real Housewives crossover.
I don’t know about you but I am soooo excited for Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. It seems like we have been waiting forever but the moment is finally here. And it’s about time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an avid Real Housewives watcher and always will be, but I can’t help but feel like some of the long standing franchises are just a tad bit stale.
With everyone going crazy from an election season and quarantine, RHOSLC is coming at the perfect time. I only got more and more excited after they released the taglines too. It truly looks like there will be no shortage of interesting housewives to watch on this franchise.
These shady boots were made for walking and I’m pretty sure Jen Shah will be wearing them on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. As viewers prepare to wallow in snowcapped mountains and faux fur, the franchise premiers on Bravo this week. New shows mean new faces and we all know, once some people see what they look like in high-definition television, they return for a second year with some nips and tucks.
Jen is out here doing the Lord’s work. When I say “the Lord’s work”, I mean talking smack. If you’ve watched the RHOSLC trailer, you know Jen is absolutely not a wallflower. She isn’t particularly soft spoken or afraid to share her feelings. Thankfully, sharing is caring and before we get the first episode, Jen is sharing her thoughts on plastic surgery. According to Jen, you did not wake up like that, honey.
I’ll give you a second to let that sink in. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am chomping at the bit to get Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on my schedule. These ladies might appear to be under a shroud of religion and
plastic surgery strict rules, but the Magic 8 Ball says all signs point to a complete hot mess.
We haven’t had a new franchise in several years, so it will be refreshing to meet a new cast. If we’re going by media reports and scandalous rumors, RHOSLC is on track to ruffle a few feathers. One of the more notable storylines will play out courtesy of Mary Cosby. Mary is deeply involved with the Pentecostal church, so much that it heavily impacted her family dynamics. Co-star Lisa Barlow found her eyebrows raised when she discovered Mary’s not-so-little secret. Welcome to Revelation 3.14, the marrying your grandfather addendum.
Who is ready to welcome new friends to the Bravo Universe? Full disclosure, I am very excited about Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. We haven’t had a new franchise in years and sometimes the same old faces bring the same old drama. How many seasons can we really tolerate Lisa Rinna telling us to “own it”?
Thankfully, Bravo is showing mercy on our tainted souls by introducing Salt Lake City (and diversity) to viewers. When you think of extravagant lifestyles and wealthy histrionics, Utah might not be the first state that comes to mind. However, by all accounts these ladies
are nuts have strong personalities and some very interesting background stories. Now the RHOSLC taglines have been released, giving fans a little insight into these strong personalities. I know Utah has a lot of mountains, but I didn’t know it was so shady.
It’s not about the pasta! It’s about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City! This is not a drill! Andy Cohen announced at BravoCon that viewers are getting another Real Housewives show! Looks like Dallas is no longer the baby of the Housewives family. The majestic mountains and Mormon culture are going to be an interesting addition to the popular franchise.
One person who could shed light on what we might be able to expect is Lala Kent. The Vanderpump Rules star is actually from Utah, so she has firsthand experience on what they offer. If the cast of the new show is anything like Lala, fans won’t be disappointed. She’s one of the most outspoken and opinionated people on all of Bravo. Thankfully, she’s speaking out on her excitement for the new series!
I’ve felt like I’m in heaven these past couple of weeks with four new Real Housewives shows a week. The limit does not exist when it comes to the number of Real Housewives shows that I would watch.
That’s why I’m so happy that Andy Cohen announced a new show for us to watch during a panel at BravoCon. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is on the way!
