Loni Love is a well-known American comedian, TV host, actress, author, and former electrical engineer. She was born on July 14, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan. Growing up in the Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects, her path to success is inspiring. After graduating from Cass Technical High School in 1985, she worked at a General Motors assembly line, which sparked her interest in electrical engineering. She pursued this interest at Prairie View A&M University, earning a degree in electrical engineering while minoring in music and discovering her passion for stand-up comedy. Love’s shift from engineering to entertainment began at Xerox in California. She continued performing stand-up comedy in clubs and became a regular at the Laugh Factory. In 2003, she reached the finals of “Star Search,” which propelled her into the comedy spotlight. Her unique humor and insightful social commentary earned her recognition, including being named one of the “Top 10 Comics to Watch” by Variety and Comedy Central in 2009.
