The contract information of The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast has been leaked and boy oh boy is it interesting. Popsquire was able to get their hands on the contract signed by one of the ladies, and here is a brief summary of what it entails -
- Unlike most other reality shows, the contract does not require Bravo to pay the NJ ladies for their appearances.
- In addition to receiving no compensation, they have to pay Bravo 10% of “any and all gross income…unrelated to the Series” that they earn for up to four years after the last episode of the series. (So I take it Bravo is earning 10% off the profits of Bethanny’s “Naturally Thin” book)
- The producers did agree not to film the ladies engaging in any of the following conduct without prior approval: “(i) showering/bathing, (ii) urination/defecation, and (iii) engaging in actual sexually explicit conduct.”
Okay, so these women sign away their lives and even part of the earnings just to be on television? Fame is a helluva drug.
They must have complete idiots for lawyers. The New York City housewives started out at a paltry $5,000 an episode which zoomed up to like $50,000 or more after the first season was a success. Something odd is going on here.
They must be making crazy money.lol. I havwe heard it all. They have to pay to be on tv.lmao. They must have some crack pots as lawyers. This is too funny.lmao
If those uneducated NJ goombahs are dumb enough to allow themselves to be embarrassed on national TV for free, they deserve what they get. Caroline tries to act all Mafia tough and schooled, and the truth is she’s been getting punked by Bravo the entire time! I LOVE IT!!!
But answer me this: If Bravo’s not paying them, how can Teresa afford all the stuff she’s buying — and where is all that cash coming from?
There has to be some other benefits they are deriving from being on the show- i hope. I believe some of them own businesses so i am guessing these business may be flourishing or something due to their newly found fame.
I want to believe these ladies are smarter than this contract.
About the ‘lost footage’ shown last night… Looked to me like Danielle was sending a message to the other housewives when she stood there in silence while her best bud Tommy ridiculed Teresa by saying, “You should see how stupid you look on TV.” If those are not his exact words, they convey the gist of what he said to her.
So Teresa had every right to demand that he stay away from her. At one point, he purposely stood only a few inches from her and directly in front of her, completely obscuring her. He was aggressive in his stance and in what he said to her. And I didn’t appreciate Andy telling them ‘both’ to behave when it was obviously Danielle’s best friend causing the stir on the set.
Teresa did react oddly, however, by calling him “disgusting” over and over and by referring to what he said directly to her as having been a put-down he made of her to Danielle. So most likely Teresa didn’t realize that he was speaking directly to her, else surely she would’ve been even madder.
And Danielle, no doubt, basked in the conflict, since she was able to show the other housewives that she meant business when she wrote in her blog and stated at the reunion that she had friends and fans who would protect her from her perceived enemies. Danielle completely ignored Caroline and Dina’s requests that she tell him to leave the set in order to diffuse the situation. In the end, he had to be all but dragged off the set and returned to his chair off stage.
Danielle just stood there in an apparent Xanax haze as he diddled with her fake locks. I’ve never had such a visceral reaction to a reality cast member… except maybe Ailea of ‘The Bad Girls Club.’
fauleigh~Thanks for the review, I saw the clip and didn’t get what was said, just heard T telling Danny he was digusting, to get away from her. You know how T feels about Gay’s..maybe that is why Tommy dissed her.
Dina and Tersea have clothing botigues on line, advertised on their blogs, wonder if Bravo gets 10 percent of their sales. T is asking 50 bucks for a baby hair clips..give me a break..

There is no entertainment like Danielle though. Gotta give it to her for entertainment value she is priceless. Teresa is too. I laugh at her all the time.lol
Marti, at $50 a pop, I don’t see Teresa being swamped with customers for her baby hair clips. Teresa is probably used to paying far more for her girls’ hair clips and thinks she’s selling them really cheap. I’ll have to check out their online boutiques.
And Jenny, as much as I complain about Danielle, I realize that she is why I was drawn into the show and I look forward to seeing just how far she’ll go as the ‘wicked victim’ next season. No doubt about it, Danielle is the real thing.
I am not surprised that these women went on TV for nothing. They are such drama hounds..esp Teresa. Teresa is a joke! That house of hers, ewww! UGLY!
Danielle was the only one I liked, she was far more honest than the other women.
