The New York Post is reporting that the biggest posers to ever hit reality television, Alex McCord and hubby Simon Van Kempen, might be getting the boot from their Bravo show – The Real Housewives of New York City.
According to the Post, the wife & hubby duo are not going to be asked back for a season four. Season Three, which is set to premier March 4, just wrapped up filming. They will be appearing on the 3rd season.
So why are Simon & Alex not being asked back? According to a source, “There are a ton of reasons they aren’t being asked back.”
The first being, “Viewers don’t have a positive reaction to them, so they’re easily replaceable at this point,” says the source. However, a Bravo rep insists that “no details have been released about next season” and Simon himself insists, “We have not had any discussions regarding a fourth season.”
“Also, they don’t really fit in with the other wives,” continues the source. “All of the other women’s story lines have interwoven, yet Alex and Simon have kept theirs separate. It isn’t nearly as interesting as the other Housewives’.”
And it doesn’t end there. According to the insider, there are even more reasons. Apparently Simon threw a “hissy fit” because he’s not being paid as much as the other cast members. “Simon wants to be an equal on the show, but that doesn’t really make any sense to Bravo,” the source says. “After all, he’s not a ‘Real Housewife,’ now is he?”
The Post also says the other ladies on the show including Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, and Kelly Bensimon would like to see them go. “In the upcoming season, Alex picks a lot of fights, and it looks like it’s an attempt to keep her story line relevant,” the insider says. “But it ended up seeming inauthentic.”
So far no word yet on who will replace Alex & Simon, if they do end up leaving the show.

New Yorkers may finally get a break from the city’s most overexposed “House” husband: We hear that Simon van Kempen and his missus, Alex McCord, aren’t being asked back for Season Four of “The Real Housewives of New York City.”

So who could replace the husband-and-wife duo? Event planner Jennifer Gilbert and ex-wife of a JP Morgan heir Sonja Morgan, who were announced last fall as the newest Housewives.
“It’s been known that one was meant to replace Bethenny, who’s getting her own show, but until now no one knew who the other housewife to go would be,” says our insider. “Now it looks like it’s Alex.”
I am so tired of this couple – I and probably others – turn the channel when they come on. They come across as social climbers, self-important, and have horrid children. I hope this (effectively a) rumor is true. The show will be more watchable without the Alex and Simon are removed from the mix.
It seems to me that the van Kempens receive a lot more positive comments on their Bravo blog site. You can easily drum up haters for each of the housewives, but that’s shouldn’t get them kicked off the show. A lot of people will be very upset if Alex gets bumped. AND my email address better not ever get sold or given to anyone.
Also, LuAnn has proven herself to be one nasty, mean human being. So, why wouldn’t she get kicked off??
NY is one long loud boring fight caused 99% of the time by the boring mean girl team. I would kick Luann and Jill to the curb. Luann has NEVER been fun to watch, and I am sick of Jill’s overinflated self-caused drama. (Too bad, because I really liked her season 1.) Sonya is showing her true colors, and has become creepy. Kelley…. is Kelley. Buh Bye! Get rid of those 4. Keep Ramona, the van Kempen’s and Cindy, and hire new cast to replace the rest. Won’t be missed!
Yes! They are trouble makers! Ever since they connected with that lunatic in Chicago. Alex is bllind. This guy really thinks he is a housewife in more ways than one! I bet they think they are going to get their own show out of it? Good luck!! She may be nice but he is a moron and will ruin anything she touches!!
Simon is the equivalent to the Daniel Staub of RHNJ. Always stalking on and off the show!
This was written last year. It’s totally irrelevent now. Alex and Simon are only gaining popularity while Jill, Kelly, and Luanne become harder and harder to watch.
I will never watch Bravo again if this happens and right now it is on 90% of the time!! They have stayed true and down to earth!!!

Kelly is horrid and obnoxious along with LuAnne. Alex is nice. Get rid of Kelly and LuAnne, PLEASE. They are both MEAN GIRLS.
I really lost respect when they joked about the countess and removing the o and putting it in front, as well as see you next Tuesdsy, I think this is thier attempt at a one liner which seems to be one thing that got Bethany her own show. I will miss all the facial looks,, they are so funny, makes me wonder if she watches herself. Why can she not say anything nice about the others. Then at the reunion telling Cindy to get laid and she so out of controll she is panting like a dog. I wish them no misfortune but they are not intertainment, may God bless thosse two boys.

I do not want to see Alex and Simon go. What about letting go crazy Kelly, nasty Jill and condescending LuAnn? If you look at responses to their Bravo Blogs, you can see just how popular Alex is. It’s about time she stood up for herself, and now she’s getting dropped kicked for that? Not fair and certainly not right! She’s treated like crap under the brownheads shoes, but Alex is coming out on top as far as the viewers are concerned.
Luane and Sonja are the posers. I hate watching them, it is shocking to see two people who are supposed to be high on the social ladder act like desperate sluts. Isn’t sonja barely getting bye financially. I don’t know who she is or where she came from but clearly, she has no mirrors in her house, she is a dog and Luanne, what is the point of her, she is a bore. I like that Alex grew some balls and clearly she has no problem shaking up the social clique so I think she is over sucking up to anyone that can advance her socially. Keep her and her husband they are fun to watch, Get rid of the sluts.
She is going to need all the tax credit she can get. Think about this for a moment. Bethanny has always been very savy. She doesn’t slurge on anything except her baby. I think it’s a condition of always having to be in charge of your expenses, that she never wants to ever go back there again. Plus I don’t even think it has really set in.
Yes I would like to see them leave the show. Simon makes me ill and is a waste of air time. He tries to overshadow the other housewives, it’s like he wants to be a housewife rather than a supporting role. The show isn’t supposed to be about husbands.

I don’t think Alex McCord or her husband Simon add anything to the show. I love Bethenny Frankel. She is a beautiful, intelligent woman and the most interesting NYC wife. I would love to see more of her.
When Jill told her she didn’t want to be friends with her and I saw Bethenny cry, it was heartbreaking. Now Jill wants her friendship back and Bethenny should have nothing to do with her.
To all of you who hate Simon and Alex: have you been watching the same show I have?? Somehow, I don’t think so. Out of all the cast members of the show, it’s Alex and Simon who show the greatest humanity and kindness to others. Did Alex break in Morocco? And did she break during the reunion shows? Absolutely, as I would have. One of the writers to this blog used the word “unsufferable,” and that would be completely accurate if used towards the supposedly well-behaved Countess Luann, Jill and Kelly (who’s a bit crazed). Luann is no more a Countess with appropriate behaviors than I am. But, I really believe that I would have behaved with more kindness in my little pinky than she is capable of doing with her entire being (can you ignore her passive/aggressive nasty behavior? If so, YIKES!). I mean, my goodness, she is incapable of letting another finish a sentence, she ruined any chance of Bethany and Jill getting back together (on purpose), and she goes out of her way to take down anyone who may disagree with her (God forbid). Sad that Jill will never understand that Luann singlehandedly ruined her friendshp with Bethany. Alex tried very hard to stick up for herself, but she was told constantly to “be quiet,” “shut up,” “no one is talking to you,” and was humiliated beyond endurance. Jill and Luann did ridicule her children, and that’s intolerable. How can anyone not see that? I have a child with ADHD, and if someone ridiculed him, I would have come out with guns (verbal) a-blazing. I think many of you “haters” just can’t see through to what’s right. Simon and Alex are trying to live their lives right and to bring up their children in a loving environment. How can anyone dispute that? Just saying …
