The Ultimate Merger’s Omarosa Talks Religion, Romance & Bethenny Frankel

Omarosa

Reality show bitch villain Omarosa is dishing about her life in a new interview with Vibe.

The 36-year-old star of her dating show, The Ultimate Merger, opens up about her past marriage, her calling to be a minister and also discusses her infamous feud with Bethenny Frankel of the Real Housewives of NYC.

And despite being photographed at various events with actor Michael Clarke Duncan, Omarosa claims she is still dating the winner of her show.

Excerpts from her interview below –

In all your press over the years nobody ever mentioned that you’re Nigerian. What does your name mean?

My full name is Omorosaonee; it’s a Yoruba name that means, ‘my beautiful child desired.’ My father’s family is Nigerian my mother is American. I do recognize where I’m from and my lineage. I mean you look at my cheekbones, you look at my fierce fighting spirit and attitude—you know exactly where I’m from. I went to Nigeria three years ago and did a whole press tour there for about three weeks and helped to launch an Apprentice Africa. It was pretty exciting.

When we first met you on Season 1 of The Apprentice you wanted to work for Donald Trump, when did you discover you wanted to be a minister?

I got my calling two years ago, I didn’t respond to my call immediately but that’s when I got it. I absolutely want to be a minister.  I’ve been doing missionary work around the world for the last five years; work in Haiti and for the homeless. Wherever God calls me, wherever he leads me that is where I’ll go, and if he eventually leads me to a church that’s where I’ll be.

The Ultimate Merger was completed last year, which means you’ve already shot the reunion special and found your man. I know you can’t reveal the ending but are you really saying you’ve married someone from the show?

That was my intention to find love. I went all the way in, one hundred percent [with this show.]  The hardest part is not being able to be seen [in public] with the person that you ultimately chose. It’s been seven months since we’ve finished the show and we’ve [my new guy and I] have had to do some sneaking and creeping around because we can’t disclose who the winner is. So that’s been interesting.

So what would say went wrong with your first marriage?

My ex-husband and I married very young. I was 22; about to turn 23, he was in his early twenties. We were college sweethearts at Howard University and we had no clue what it took to make a marriage work. A benefit of recognizing that early enough was that we could decide amicably to go our separate ways. And we still have a good relationship.

You called Bethenny Frankel (from Bethenny’s Getting Married? and Real Housewives of New York) a “twit” recently. How did that all come about?

Bethenny Frankel was on The View and she was actually being complimented by Sherri Shepherd who said, ‘Bethenny you were on the Martha Stewart Apprentice and now you’ve got your own show and you’re doing your own thing. You’re utilizing this opportunity like Omarosa.’ And then Bethany says, ‘I’m not like Omarosa, she’s just famous for being infamous, she doesn’t have a real career I have a real career.’ It was really crazy stuff because Bethenny was a friend. She called after Martha Stewart Apprentice and asked me, ‘What can I do to extend my fifteen minutes of fame?’ Martha Stewart Apprentice had like two viewers, and The Apprentice had 28 million viewers— so who has the real career? Don’t get me started. That arrogance and the idea that [Bethenny thinks she has] this superiority [over me], it just baffles me, really baffles me. I mean this girl was a cocktail waitress five years ago; I worked in The White House. I mean really, who has the real career?
