Months after filing for divorce from her husband of 16 years, Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson admits she is going through a midlife crisis.
In an interview with UsWeekly magazine, Vicki first discussed the future of the OC Housewives, which also happens to be the first housewives franchise from the Bravo network.
“I believe we are going to be around a long time because the viewers want to see our lives unfold,” said Vicki. “I mean my life is totally different now than it was when I started 6 years ago. I was 42, I’m 49 next month so it’s really kind of interesting. I’m hitting 50 on TV.”
Vicki then admitted she is going through a midlife crisis which would explain the above outfit. “I’m going through a midlife crisis,” she said. The reason? “I’ve got a convertible, a belly button ring, and I’m getting a divorce!” said Vicki who filed for divorce last October from hubby Donn Gunvalson. Vicki has also put her home with Donn up for sale this week.
In other news, Gretchen Rossi is moving forward with her music career as she debuted her new single ‘Revelation’ today via the Perez Hilton site.
This isn’t the first time “Gretchen Christine” has released a song as she also released a single back in January of 2010 called ‘Nothing Without You.’ While the first song was a ballad, the latest single is more of a dance track. Gretchen actually sounds decent on the song as she did on the first track. And not to start any Milli Vanilli rumors, but has anyone heard Gretch sing live? Oddly enough, unlike her fellow singing housewives aka Kim Zolciak and Countess LuAnn, Gretchen has yet to be shown recording a song or singing on the Bravo show.

TELL US – THOUGHTS ON VICKI’S COMMENTS AND GRETCHEN’S NEW SONG?
Her neediness is a definite turn-off. She fought hard to own her children’s lives–she did manage to trap Michael into insurance (poor guy–you just know all the employees hate his mom), but sweet Brianna managed to distance herself. In Vicki’s world, all those in her life MUST accept that they are “MY PEOPLE”–How many times have we heard that embarrassing reference? She’s a textbook case of the girl who wasn’t popular or cool in hjigh school. She’s never gotten over that need to be “The Joneses”, and while hard work and ambition got her “behind the gates”, deep inside she knows it’ll never be enough. How sad that she practically had to beg her mother to say, “I love you’. i think she should give it a try with Simon–someone who won’t take her shit.
Because of my ancient computer, I couldn’t listen to Gretchen’s song, but I probably wouldn’t have thought much of it anyway. All these houswives copy each other anyway. Many of them write books about their stupid lives, or release a song. Who cares? None of them seems to really have any staying power in term of celebrity. As for the above pics, Gretchen does have pretty hair, but I have to agree with Peggy. It is very Texas-big and pageant-y. Gretchen always looks like she just got her hair done to go to the prom. What can be said about Vicki? I don’t find her as God awful hideous as other people apparently do, but she is NOT a pretty lady. She never was. She’s chunky and dumpy no matter how much her clothes cost or how she puts herself together. I don’t think Vicki thinks or acts like she’s the best looking woman on the show, so because of that, I don’t have anything against her. I think she’s making a big mistake by letting go of Donn. Of course, nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, but he seems like a sweet man who really loved her. Vicki’s not that loveable, so she should think twice about who’s really going to be there for her at the end of the day in a couple of years. All that’s going to happen to Vicki is she’s going to be a target for gigolo’s who will treat her bad and want to spend her money. My guess is one day she will be begging Donn to take her back.
nobody knows what he is really like because they dont show him that much on TV. so i dont know if he is a tool or not, but i know that i personally would rather be happy by myself than miserable with the wrong person.
Vicki will find like so many “women” her age finds out, that Don was indeed her match. Very few men can handle dominating controlling women and Vicki has that in spades. For the few that do test the waters, the women usually end up appearing on the series “snapped”.
Or….being played by men who simply want to be with her for her money, I mean I don’t give a crap how big her boobs are, how blonde the hair is, Vicki ain’t no beauty queen, far from it.
She’s gonna look back on all this some day and find that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side and Don was indeed a very good catch. I really feel for Vicki, she’s gotten all caught up in the Tamara hype and being successful and instead of appreciating a man who’s supportive and understanding, she’s willing to toss it aside for a future that may or may not end happily after ever. I wish Don all the luck in the world in finding true happiness outside of OC.

Ya know, this guy, Don may or may not be a douche bag, but one thing is certain…Vicki ain’t no beauty queen and although she’s successful and rich….we’re talking California here, were youth is everything and beauty is king!! And from what we all saw, the man was supportive in allowing this woman to roam the planet without him.
Don was such a sweetheart and Icky treated him like crap, you guys remember the episode when Vicky bought a watch for herself and how she keep pointing out I bought it for myself, poor Don’s feelings were hurt! And as for you Gretchen singing is not for you and the same goes from Kim K!

Yuk. I couldn’t even tell if that was GR singing or not. I don’t like whiny techno songs…not my cup of tea-but maybe other people will like it. I give her credit for at least trying though.
someone needs to give Vicki makeup application lessons – her foundation is awful. someone needs to give Gretchen smile lessons- she has a mouthful of teeth but always has this half ass grin thing going on. BLAH on both of them
I listen to her song…It sounds ok if you are trying to corner the 10-12 years market. Kim’s songs are far better. I guess it also sounded bad to me, becuase when she talks it sounds fake.
Vicki will never find anyone like Donn. She was so overbearing and mean just like she is to everyone. She looks horrible-needs a new facelift and a chemical peel and some dieting if she’s going to be dating. It cruel out there in So Cal.
Remember when your mom said everything isn’t for everybody. Vicki needs to hear that again and again. What level headed woman claims midlife crisit at almost 50. It’s all an excuse. I believe she has her eyes set on another man and poor Donn was in the way. Her children have to be mortified to have her for a mom in some situations. Give up the whoo hoo it’s so teenage. And please, please get them tittays fixed lopsided tittays are not a fashion statement. I don’t know which is worse the tittays,r the fact that dosen’t match the body color.

I feel sorry for Vicki’s kids because now that she’s alone, she’s gonna be all up her kids ass. Looking for validation like, “Do you love meeeeeeee?” And Vicki is hanging her money over the kids head. They are forced to enable Vicki’s massive ego or her insecurities. Brianna might be okay but Mike is stuck with his overbearing mother because he has to work with her. I don’t think he has the personality to be a bartender unless it’s at Red Robin.

So I guess, all Gretchen has to do now is learn Spanish (assuming Jo De la Rosa speaks her native language) and it will be like Slade is dating Jo all over again! It’s so obvious that Slade misses Jo. He didn’t want Gretchen to buy those cute little flat shoes because they would remind him of Jo (proves Slade is still reminded of Jo). Gretchen has recorded two songs now (Jo tried to get her singing career off the ground and Gretchen purchased rights to Jo’s music). The only difference between Jo and Gretchen? Luckily, Jo was with Slade when he was financially independent and in the best physical shape of his life and was handsome at that time. Gretchen is getting the aging, chubby Slade! lol He won’t hold the hot, young vixen’s attention for much longer! JO…..WINNING!!! lol

i hope so too 120.. even from season 1 i was like man, i hope i meet a nice guy like donn.. years later i have.. but even then it seemed like he was more like an accessory to vicki than a husband. granted, we may not know the true nitty gritty dirty details of their marriage. we’re only seeing what was presented by bravo but my gut instinct usually steers me right.

I completely agree backfires. This pic says it all. Gretchen’s dress is discrete, showing just a bit of cleavage. And her make up matches her body color. Look at Vicki!! One boob up and the other down. Face is white and scary and the rest of her body brown and crinkled.

I don’t know what is going on with Vickie’s boobs-I have never seen boobs that look so mis-matched! Her make-up looks like she ran out of her “summer” foundation and instead had to use her “winter” foundation. Lol.
Despite having a lot of money, Vickie seems like the type to be kinda cheap with some things that other women would think necessary to spend extra money on…such as a good haircut/color and good make-up.
I see the failure of her marriage to probably be a result of both Don and Vickie not putting in the effort. Many times Don has failed to speak up for her and looks put off by her bad behavior (rightly so). I would hope my husband would always have my back. Don’t know if he is just giving her a little of her own medicine-as she has put him down in public many times. Maybe they just are not in love anymore-it happens. You wouldn’t stay at the office until 1am if you were really in love-regardless if you needed the money or not. Some things money can never buy and some things are worth more than money. Not sure if Vickie has truely figured that out or if she has and that is why she is looking to get out of a bad situation regardless of the aftermath.
Am I the only one that thinks Gretchen talks with a funny lisp. I’ve been around someone with dentures because he had to get all his teeth pulled because he thought the Metal in them were causing migraines. I totally think Gretchen wears dentures or a snap on smile. She must have gotten her Boobs done too! I know plastic surgery when I see it! I love it study it and get it.
Me thinks Don was a bit too happy when Vicki took trips without him…be it for work or play. I think she was security for him…she didn’t feel loved…she did the right thing to get out of that kind of marriage…We don’t NEED to be married/have a man to be happy ladies. If he’s not taking care of you financially/emotionally/sexually…You don’t need that noose around you neck either Vicki. She’s mothered Don long enough…time for Don to be a big boy and make it on his own…Vicki deserves some happiness too!
