It appears that whole minor being locked up in jail thingy and not being able to see her child is having a major impact on Amber Portwood.
The Teen Mom star, who remains in jail since being locked up two weeks ago for violating her probation, made some startling revelations during a recent court appearance.
The Herald Bulletin reports that during her court hearing last week an Indiana judge ruled that Amber, 21, remain in jail during the holidays until her hearing in January.
In addition to violating her probation by failing to submit to drug tests, not getting her GED or completing anger management classes, Amber is also accused of new charges — committing battery (stemming from a recent restaurant fight) and possession of a controlled substance (cops found her with over 40 pills without a prescription).
Amber testified that upon leaving a Malibu rehab facility this summer, she saw a medical doctor for back pain and other issues. The doctor prescribed hydrocodone which she admitted she began to abuse. According to Amber, the medication contributed to the probation violations and new offenses.
Amber then made a shocking revelation when she testified that she felt pressured and exploited through her work with MTV. “I want to quit, and I will,” she said of her participation on the hit — Teen Mom.
Her attorney, Evan Broderick, added that his client longs to return to a normal life. Interesting though I’m not certain quitting the show will help with most of the issues she is facing. Amber, who attempted suicide back in June, has revealed she is still suicidal and has been diagnosed with extreme bipolar disorder.

Even if she wasn’t on the show she’d still be TRASH, and I doubt much in her life would be different, most of the world just wouldn’t know what exact kind of scum she actually is. There are a few girls from the series that seem to be doing ok and are resposible young adults. Amber is not one of them and that has NOTHING to do with the show! That’s ALL her! And I do not buy the “suicide” attempt and isn’t it funny how everyone seems to be bi polar these days???

Bi-polar is one of the easiest mental disorder to treat once the medication dosage has been figured out.
Only because she her “Teen Mom” fame didn’t get her out of jail. If it had, I’m quite sure she wouldn’t talk of quitting.

Yes dear, you have been exploited since day one and will continue to be exploited long after you quit simply because you make headlines. I highly doubt that you will go on to live a quiet life after your days of “stardom” are over. I wish you would get the help you need for the sake of your life and your daughter.
Hopefully MTV will learn from Bravo/Russell Armstrong and ENCOURAGE her to leave the show.
For the life of me, I still don’t understand what this show is supposed to teach. All I see for the most part are a bunch of irresponsible, disrespectful, disobedient children. They have children and then want to claim that they are still teenagers. They smoke, booze it up, have reckless sex, and then pawn their children off on anyone they can. If this is what teen parenting is about MTV should nueter everyone of them to prevent them from breeding again.
I think she needs to quit blaming other things or issues in her life for the choices she has made. She could have used the MTV show and the money as opportunities to get her life in order instead of spiralling further down into the hole she is in. Grow up, take responsibility and straighten your ass out.
Of course the show is exploiting you, that is what these shows do, exploit your life, and you signed up for it, because of the attention and the cha ching $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Says a lot about a person really.

Okay, Amber was suffering from back pain. From doing what exactly? Lying on the couch in a pair of cheesy nail salon eyelashes and sleeping most of the time? I’m sure it wasn’t from cleaning her house, because by her own admission she hires a housekeeper these days to do that.
Bottom line, the mere fact that she now claims she wants to leave the show is “news,” and both she and Gary know this. Reporters will be beating down her door to ask why, and the $$$ for the latest Amber drama will keep rolling in. So I really can’t see these two media whoredogs walking away from Teen Mom — or the $200K per year paycheck from MTV they rake in any time soon.

She’s in exactly the same spot she was when she was 17 and pregnant: loser with no education, no career prospects, abusive, and without a steady home. Even Gary said he AND the kid were “between living situations.”
The show will leave her. MTV has no plans to leave this cast on forever. Amber will be 22 in May.None of the original girls are teenagers anymore, The rest are all 20 and will turn 21 in 2012. They are casting a new Teen Mom 3 cast from their cast of 16 and pregnant girls. I believe from what I’ve heard, that Amber’s drug rehab stint in Malibu over the summer was filmed by MTV, so that will air, and be the last season for the original Teen Mom cast, She will get a few more checks from that airing, but that is it. They are not filming those girls anymore. The summer was the last of their film crews. So it’s over, and with her legal problems, she is in the negative cash flow zone. It’s very sad, and hard to imagine her turning it around, but maybe, you just never know. I hope so for her child’s sake, but it’s very disturbing all of it!
Oh please! This bitch didn’t feel exploited when she was out spending all that money. She lost weight and turned into a complete bitch. That child should be taken away from her for good.
