Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has left the cast members and fans divided. The addition of two new housewives, Rachel Zoe and Amanda Frances, seemed promising, yet fell flat. And some recycled, and tired, feuds were once again front and center. While Dorit Kemsley argued with several co-stars this season, her fiery confrontations with Kyle Richards seemed like Season 14’s leftovers. Meanwhile, a friend of the cast, Jennifer Tilly, never failed to delight.
Jennifer’s quirky personality, over-the-top fashion choices, and actual wealth made her a fan favorite. And while she brought sunshine to RHOBH, Dorit brought a blizzard of drama. Unfortunately, Bozoma Saint John’s engagement to Keely Watson and a luxurious trip to Italy failed to pump up this season. While the ladies navigated real-life struggles, such as divorce, infertility, and new romances, the series failed to ignite. Still, there could be hope for the franchise as it moves forward. So, how can RHOBH fix this mess?
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15 had some great Jennifer Tilly moments
Season 15 belonged to Tilly. One of the biggest mysteries this season is why this treasure isn’t holding a diamond. Anyone who entertains in a house she owns next door to her actual home is already a legend. In addition, this season, Jennifer was involved in a squabble with her bestie, Sutton Stracke. Usually, the Oscar nominee stayed out of the drama. However, she called out Sutton for “snapping” at her and blamed her for Garcelle Beauvais’ abrupt RHOBH departure. Eventually, the ladies made up, but their short-lived dust-up added some much-needed tension to the season.
However, no one brings the humor quite like Tilly. In one confessional, she commented on newbie friend of the cast, Natalie Swanston Fuller, doing the splits on the dance floor. “She probably earned every single penny of that massive divorce settlement she is getting,” Jennifer noted. Shady!
Then, in Italy, Jennifer took a glass elevator downstairs in the morning, sporting sunglasses and a facial mask, in search of some coffee. When she was stuck in the elevator, she turned around and saw a life-sized polar bear behind her. After gasping loudly, she whimpered, “Help. I just want a cappuccino.”
And she continued her tradition of posting naked thirst traps. This time, she posed in the villa’s pool. However, at Dorit’s book cover reveal, Jennifer outdid herself. Unfortunately, her Gucci 2024 Crystal Teddy bear purse fell off a table and shattered. While the bag cost $40,000, it was clearly priceless to Jennifer. “Ow! Ow!” she exclaimed as she held the broken bear. “Mommy, it hurts!” However, when Tilly reached down to retrieve a Tums off the floor and popped it into her mouth, she earned icon status. I have my fingers crossed that we have more Tilly time next season.
RHOBH was once Bravo’s best show, but now needs a cast shake-up
The continuing saga between Dorit and Kyle was nasty and boring. Then, Erika Jayne was pulled into this dumpster fire when she and Kyle tried to talk to Dorit about their concerns.
Plus, Dorit’s chronic lateness was more than inconvenient this season. It was straight-up rude and inconsiderate. After Dorit told her to be quiet, Erika refused. As a result, Dorit stranded Kyle and Erika in a quaint Italian town.
The final dinner in Italy was a showdown between Dorit, Erika, and Kyle. Now, fans have taken sides and questioned whether Dorit and Kyle should continue on the show. Meanwhile, Sutton’s storyline involved becoming an empty-nester and adjusting to her ex-husband, Christian Stracke, asking for an annulment. She didn’t come out blazing hot like previous seasons. She was a new Sutton, and it was a refreshing change.
Meanwhile, Amanda became the newbie who annoyed both fans and her co-stars. She argued with nearly everyone, most notably Dorit and Boz. Her past in a cult was an endless topic of fascination for the group. And while Rachel brought us fashion, she also pulled the trigger and filed for divorce from Rodger Berman while filming. Still, whether the Beverly Hills newbies did enough to secure a diamond next season is up for debate.
Still, Bravo knows that a divided cast will not work. Therefore, it is a real possibility that RHOBH will experience a cast shake-up, with several familiar faces leaving. Of course, that means that some new ladies will likely join the group.
The Beverly Hills cast has to start showing all aspects of their lives
Another issue with RHOBH Season 15 is the storylines. Other than shopping, her book cover reveal, and gabbing about her divorce from PK Kemsley, we saw next to nothing of Dorit’s life. And while Kyle admitted that she fell in love with someone during her separation from longtime husband Mauricio Umansky, we haven’t seen much of her actual life since then. We saw some wedding planning with her daughter, Alexia Umansky, and some scenes reminiscing with Mau and checking out his bachelor pad.
However, when Kyle was dating this person during her separation, nothing was mentioned on camera. It seems that the person she was involved with wanted to keep everything private. During the RHOBH Season 14 reunion, host Andy Cohen called out Kyle for not being open about her friendship with singer Morgan Wade.
And this season, Erika started dating John “Shrek” McPhee. However, he never appeared on camera. John did pop up in a brief FaceTime call during the finale. While seeing Erika happy and in a relationship is great, it would have been even better to see her dynamic with John on screen.
If the Beverly Hills cast members don’t show every part of their lives, the viewers are being cheated. And thin storylines, year after year, have fans questioning why they should tune in. This show was once one of the jewels in Bravo’s crown. Hopefully, if RHOBH gets a cast shake-up and show reveals every aspect of the cast members’ lives, the series will return to its glory days.
