Yap, yap, yap.  Yada, yada, yada.  Woh woh, woh woh (in my best Peanuts teacher voice).  Lather, rinse, repeat.  If we've heard it once, we've heard it a thousand times…except in this case, we actually have heard it a thousand times. Basketball Wives creator and star Shaunie O'Neal is sick of the violence, bullying, and all-around hateful tone the show has taken since…well, since its inception.  She's wants to prove to fans that her ladies can conduct themselves with class and dignity.  This should be good!

Speaking to The Grio, Shaunie wants viewers to know that the ladies are working hard to get away from past bad behavior.  She tells the site, “For the most part, I think people were trying to do better, making an effort. I think that’s what’s most important. The effort is being made."

However, she does admit, “It’s not that we did a 360, that we’re coming in brand new and angels. Trust me, there are some moments."  I don't doubt that for a minute.  You can put lipstick on a pig, but…

Shaunie states, “I’m a mom of two girls…What I teach them at home, I want to show them."  Clearly she doesn't want them to see the ladies' horrific behavior on the show, which is why she doesn't allow them to watch it.  However, Shaunie knows they hear about it from friends at school.

She promises a more supportive side of the ladies, especially as they help pal Evelyn Lozada cope with the aftermath of ex-husband Chad Johnson's domestic abuseShaunie reveals, “It was rough. It’s a whole lot of crying. It was very emotional,” reminding fans, “A lot of it was us hearing some things for the first time…It was so new when we were filming."

Watching her friend suffer was hard for Shaunie, who explains, “I’ve never been through anything domestic violence related. I was just more like a vessel for her to talk to. I didn’t know what to say."

Of the new season, Shaunie vows less bottle throwing and more bonding.  She says, “You’ll see a lot of growth. Filming this season, I felt the growth.  This is like a mirror. We’ve been able to look at ourselves for four seasons, and now going into the fifth, it’s like, ‘I gotta do better.”  You know, firing off all of the people that you don't like would make it much easier for the remaining mean girls to get along, right?  Give.  Me.  A.  Break.
