Teresa Giudice Looks To A Higher Power To Prepare For Possible Jail Time

We all know that Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe,  have cut plea deals in their individual fraud and conspiracy confessions, but how are they dealing with the possibility of prison time? Or the possible deportation of Joe Giudice back to Italy? Apparently they are looking to a higher power to prepare them for the pokey.

An insider recently told Radar Online that the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars and devout Catholics have been counseling with their minister and "relying on their faith to get them through this."

Teresa and Joe Giudice were both charged last summer  with 41 counts of fraud, including, conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud.  Joe was also charged with tax evasion, for failure to pay taxes for a number of years in which he earned a reported $1 million.

At the time of her plea deal, Teresa Giudice — who is facing 27 months and Joe 46 months and possible deportation because he is not a US citizen —  released a statement saying,"Today I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago. I have said throughout that I respect the legal process and thus I intend to address the Court directly at sentencing."

She added, "I will describe the choices I made, continue to take responsibility for my decisions, and express remorse to Judge Slas and the public. I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family — especially for my four young daughters who mean more to me than anything in the world."

Apparently she is taking responsibility, but does not want to serve the time. Teresa is hoping to serve her time on house arrest, in order to remain with the couples, four young daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana. If not house arrest, the couple is hoping to stagger their jail time, so at least one of them can remain in the home.

But she is also preparing for the worst and religious counseling is helping her do so. (Although last I checked, God does not look keenly on liars….)

Regardless, the insider went on to say, “Spending time with her family minister is helping during a very dark time. She has always been extremely religious and is relying on it more now than ever. She has been knocked off the pedestal and is now being forced to eat a big piece of humble pie. Publicly, Teresa is putting on a brave face. She is still acting like she isn’t afraid of the looming possibility of spending time behind bars."

Sentencing is scheduled for July 8.
