‘Kate Plus 8’ Is Coming Back For More This December

Kate Gosselin

Well, we have not seen the last of Kate Gosselin and her eight kids just yet. After the success of the Kate Plus 8 summer special that aired in June, yesterday TLC announced they filming again and the new special will air this December.

The news comes more than three years after the cancellation of Kate Plus 8, which had morphed from Jon & Kate Plus 8 after Jon Gosselin left the show in 2009. At the time, Kate was very public about her inability to care for her kids without her reality show income. Well with these specials, perhaps she can worry no more.

Kate Plus 8: Sextuplets Turn 10, the 2-part special that aired earlier this summer, was sold as a special focusing  on the sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel birthday. But in the clips I saw, it seemed like it was a platform for Kate Gosselin to bitch and moan about what a hard life she has raising the sextuplets — along with twins Cara and Mady— “on her own.”

This time around, according to the Hollywood Reporter, the special will follow “a Gosselin family vacation, with Kate and the children traveling to Boston and other parts of New England.” As well as document the kids as they get ready to go back to school.

This very well may not be the end of Kate Plus 8 specials either. The ratings were huge — 2.1 million — for the June special. And again Kate needs the money as a struggling single mother. (Can you hear the sarcasm?) Since Jon gave the go-ahead to the kids appearing on TV in lieu of paying child support, Kate has a green light as far as specials go. So get ready, this may not be the end.
