Kate Gosselin Is Having Massive Yard Sale This Weekend…Is She Hard Up For Money?

Kate Gosselin

When I was young and naive, I always assumed that someone being on television meant they were rich for life. Of course, I now realize how stupid that assumption is, but geez! It takes a special kind of fiscally stupid and wildly irresponsible person to blow through reality show paychecks, yet these idiots never seem to learn from their destitute counterparts’ mistakes.

Case in point? Former Jon & Kate Plus 8 stars Kate and Jon Gosselin are now (separately) scraping the bottom of the barrel after a contentious and drawn-out divorce coupled with a love of rooster haircuts, spray tans, and Ed Hardy. Haven’t they heard of trust funds and financial planners and, oh, I don’t know…saving the copious amounts of money made on a now defunct reality show? It’s quite appalling to think about, really.

According to In Touch, the once somewhat entertaining bickering twosome is experiencing some financial woes. On the heels of Jon (who went from partying with Lindsay Lohan’s father to starring on Couples Therapy to waiting tables to being unemployed) getting evicted from his house in Pennsylvania, Kate has announced a massive yard sale.

Of course, the bank accounts of Jon and Kate may not be totally comparable. Sure, Kate is selling off her belongings at St. Johns United Church of Christ, but she’s just trying to declutter her massive home. Some of the profits from the yard sale will be going to a local animal rescue charity. At least there’s that, right?

The site is reporting that Kate and her brood will be hocking some household belongings, with Kate sharing they “will be there selling their unwanted/no longer needed items clogging up their house,” including, “clothing, toys, books, appliances, car/booster seats, furniture and more.”

Kate is often criticized for her constant famewhoring and all around horrible personality and attitude, but she assures us that her love of the spotlight is simply to make ends meet. She’s been quoted in the past as saying, “Hear me very clearly, if there was another way to singly support eight children, you would not know this name and I would be on an island, and so would they. You would never hear from us again,” adding, “Having said that, [TV] is a pretty fantastic way to feed my children, keep them in an amazing house, at an amazing school and make memories together.”

So which is it? Island life or chasing that fading fame? I think we all know the answer.

TELL US-  DO YOU THINK KATE IS HOSTING THE YARD SALE BECAUSE SHE’S BROKE? WILL YOU BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE IN THE QUAKER STATE THIS WEEKEND TO SCROUNGE THROUGH KATE’S CASTOFFS?
