Even though Maksim Chmerkovskiy has taken breaks from Dancing With the Stars before, it’s hard to imagine the show without him on a permanent basis, but apparently Maks is so done with the show. Who knows if this is true forever, but he does seem pretty serious this time.
And you know what? It makes sense. He is engaged to Peta Murgatroyd and they are expecting their first child together soon, so it is perfectly valid and actually refreshing that he would want to focus on his family life even though he has a red hot career on such a popular reality TV show.
It’s so crazy that Terra Jolethrew herself into Dancing With the Stars just a couple weeks after giving birth to her second child. I’m a (relatively) healthy person and I feel like I would die from the rigor of competing on Dancing with the Stars, so I have no idea how a new mom is able to do that so soon. So it’s really not at all surprising that Terra opened up about how strenuous the show is on her body.
Not only is Terra a mother to a newborn, but she is also a little person, so she really has a lot to manage when it comes to competing in such a physical competition. And even with all that, she is still doing very well on show.
I have no idea why people hate on Amber Rose. It’s cool that she’s made a career solely of being herself. I know that’s common these days, but Amber is definitely one of the best at it and I cannot knock her hustle. Plus, she actually has some articulate things to say when it comes to social issues. I know Amber is not an entertainer in the traditional sense, but she is making some major moves and going on a world tour.
No, Amber is not taking her new moves from Dancing With the Stars to do some sort of performing. In fact, Amber is going to do what she does best and just be Amber – which is apparently worth a lot since she is reportedly getting paid $8 million to do this.
If you watch Little Women: LA and/or Little Women: NY, you know that Lila Call and Terra Jole cannot stand each other. They have come to blows on both of the Lifetime reality shows, but I figured that Lila would be somewhat happy that Terra is the first little person to go on Dancing With the Stars, right? Well, as per usual, Lila has a lot to say about Terra being on the show and a lot to say about Terra herself.
I understand why Terra and Lila do not like each other and I feel no need to rehash it, but why do they still need to be talking about each other and talking about new things at that? Just leave the past in the past and do not stir up new drama. But then again, these girls are famous for being on reality shows so drama is par for the course and encouraged. What was I thinking? If you live for the controversy, you’ll definitely be interested in Lila’s opinion about Terra on Dancing With the Stars.
Terra Jole is the littlest contestant to ever compete on Dancing With The Stars, but she’s not letting her height or the recent birth of her son stand in her way!
Terra and her pro partner, Sasha Farber, performed a Jive in the season 23 premiere. The Little Women: LA star decided participating in DWTS was important both as a challenge to herself and to “hopefully to show other people with disabilities that anything is possible.”
To put it mildly, it is tough to be Ryan Lochte these days. Sure, he is a wealthy, Olympic medalist so life can be worse, but he has been through the ringer in the media. Everyone is disappointed in Ryan for lying about getting robbed at gunpoint, so wasn’t surprising that he joined Dancing With the Stars to rehab his tarnished image. Unfortunately for the swimmer, that’s not going well so far, since protesters rushed the stage during the premiere episode.
If anyone needs to be on this show, it’s Ryan Lochte. Undoing his poor reputation, is going to take a lot of effort and I’m not just talking about nailing his routines on the dance floor. This is going to be a rough road ahead if he survives elimination. No matter how you feel about the Olympian, you have to admit that it was probably scary to encounter those protesters.
Maksim revealed to Us Weekly about why he decided to return to DWTS after sitting out two seasons. “I was on tour with my brother Val this summer. I finished, dillydallied for a while, and I was like, “I want to move a little! So, short of taking f–king salsa lessons, I might as well go do Dancing With the Stars!” My tenure on DWTS was constantly tumultuous. There was always negativity. But this tour was a very cathartic experience. It focused on life through dance, how we got here. Things that bothered me before no longer did.”
“This fall, I was planning on being immersed in rehearsals for Singin’ in the Rain on Broadway, but due to successes of the shows currently running, that project has been delayed because there simply isn’t a theater available,” said Derek. “With my fall schedule freeing up I’m excited to say that I’ll be back on Dancing with the Stars for Season 23. It is always great to be back with my DWTS family, coaching, creating, and making lasting memories.”
