Kathy Wakile and husband Rich were in the SiriusXM building this week after doing another interview and Bethenny Frankel invited them in for a segment on her show, B Real With Bethenny. They dished on the bad blood with Teresa Giudice, shared why they choose to stay on Real Housewives of New Jersey and what they think about the realness of Teresa and Melissa Gorga’s sudden bonding.
Bethenny asks if Kathy and Rich continue to do the show for the money or for their business. “It’s a little bit of both,” Kathy says. “A lot of times when we film with our family, our immediate family, it’s fun. It’s being you, there’s no tension.” She continues, “It is a good platform, I’m not going lie. And the money’s not bad either.”
Aside from the nonsense story lines with Jacqueline Laurita and the two new Housewives that none of us know yet, the Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 premiere episode was really emotional. At this point I just wish that the show was about Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudiceand their families. I guess that it basically is, but officially dropping the dead weight (Jacqueline) would make for a great show.
But anyway, the Gorga/Giudice portion of RHONJwas on point and I was all sorts of emotional when I was watching it. Melissa and her husband Joe Gorga were so excited and nervous for Teresa to come home and I really felt the tension when I was watching-I also have no life, but anyway)… Melissa shared her thoughts on the first episode of Season 7.
I am semi-embarrassed to admit that I got pretty emotional when I watched the Real Housewives of New JerseySeason 7 premiere episode. I am way too invested in these people’s lives and Teresa Giudice’s homecoming really got me choked up. Yes, I was super annoyed that Bravo waited until the end of the episode before giving me what I really wanted to see, but it was definitely worth the suspense. The Queen is back and I am so excited about it.
Still, I felt awkward watching the nervous anticipation from Melissa Gorga and Joe Gorga before Teresa’s return since I now know that they are all on really good terms and that Melissa and Teresa are now besties. And if I feel kind of conflicted watching the family tension, then I can’t imagine how Teresa herself feels.
Who I did not enjoy seeing was Jacqueline Laurita, who is still crazy after all these years. Also, Poison just had to show off his little poison spewer and just no. Still no. Always no. Forever no. Like Melissa Gorga has to be married to him and enjoy his many splendored little thing, but the rest of us, we didn’t take those vows to honor and cherish anything about him.
Also, Melissa has new hair that is quite short and blonde. Interesting.
I will never understand why anyone on the Real Housewives of New Jersey has the audacity to hate on Teresa Giudice. If it wasn’t for her, the show would have been finished a long time ago. Like her or not, you have to admit that Teresa IS the Real Housewives of New Jersey and it would be nothing without her. So I have no idea why Jacqueline Laurita is always coming for Teresa – other than looking for opportunities for attention.
Season 7 hasn’t even aired yet and I have seen many issues with Jacqueline “opening up about her relationship with Teresa” as if she does not have anything else to talk about or any other story lines to contribute to the show. Needless to say, I am not at all surprised that Jacqueline‘s been talking about Teresa….again.
Real Housewives of New Jersey didn’t seem like Dina Manzo‘s happy place when she reluctantly appeared on it in her last season. But no matter! She’s found her happy place in real life now, with younger love interest, businessman Dave Cantin. The couple met through work in Dina’s charitable organization, Project Ladybug.
After her divorce, Dina says she was sort of “done” with dating. “I was fine just never falling in love again,” says Dina, but adds “you know, I guess some things happen when you’re not really looking for it.” Cantin was also in the process of divorcing when the duo met. Dina attributes their compatibility to their shared passion for helping others. She says she and Dave are both “really passionate about helping children with cancer,” which is the mission of Project Ladybug.
