In the past few seasons of Real Housewives of New Jersey, I felt like Joe Gorga was a pretty lovable side character. He liked the camera way too much and got uncomfortably naked at random times, but he was still seemed like a good and humorous person.
But this season is not a good look for Joe, especially when it comes to his thoughts on Melissa Gorga opening up her clothing boutique Envy. Not only was he not down with the business idea, but he also seemed uncomfortable “watching” his own kids and sharing the home responsibilities with Melissa. I’m calling it now that Melissa will be bombarded with questions about this at the reunion, but for now it seems like Melissa is focusing on the bright side when it comes to her husband and her business.
I know we are only a few episodes in, but I have to say that I still don’t know what to make of Siggy Flicker. At first, I was living for her and I loved watching her sip lobster bisque out of straw since she was still wearing bandages after her face lift.
I am so over hearing Jacqueline Laurita talk about her friendship with Teresa Giudice in the press. Don’t get me wrong, I am intrigued by the ups and downs in their relationship, but at this point it seems like Jacqueline’s paraphrasing her own comments and repeating the same thing over and over again.
We get it. You two were close. You were like sisters. There’s a bond there. You also hate Teresa now because you are jealous of her being the star. We haven’t seen any new drama between these two on the show yet, so maybe Jacqueline isn’t supposed to talk about that until it airs? That’s the only explanation I have for Jacqueline spewing out the same quotes over and over again.
I have a feeling that Dolores Catania is going to pull off the rare feat of being a genuinely nice person and a popular reality TV star. The new girl is arguable the nicest person in the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast, but there is still something very entertaining about her.
The appeal of watching Dolores on TV is that she really seems like a genuine person. First off, she was actually friends with the entire cast before she was a part of the show. Second, she just keeps it real – and NOT in an over-the-top reality show stereotype sort of way. I can’t help wondering why she wasn’t on the show sooner, but Dolores feels like she joined the cast at the ideal time in her life.
Poison Gorga seems to be confused both about which century he’s living in and that his life is not a 1980’s movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. You guys, men with sprayed on muscles DO NOT take care of their own children – they are not babysitters!
In all honesty, it’s still a little unclear to me if Jacqueline Laurita left Real Housewives of New Jersey or if she was fired. I have no idea why she would ever leave that show, so I’m going to go with the latter. Nevertheless, it is very obvious why she is back.
Jacqueline and Chris Laurita have explained that they are going through financial troubles during the first few episodes of this season. They even agreed not to give each other Christmas gifts to be fiscally responsible and Chris said that he sold some of their jewelry for money. So this makes me wonder what is going on with the Laurita business ventures.
Andy starts off by asking Reza why the cast (aside from Asa) didn’t stick up for MJ with Vida after the engagement? “Culturally, that’s just not what you do.” Andy then asks him if it was a smart move to buy a Palm Springs investment property without seeing it? “Yeah, it was. Just because of what it’s worth now.”
I’m all for kumbaya and all that jazz, but I just feel so awkward watching Jacqueline Laurita go back and forth between talking shit about Teresa Giudice and trying to get sympathy talking about how she misses her. It is so blatantly obvious that Jacqueline wants Teresa to like her. It even seems like she’s more upset about not being Teresa’s BFF than whatever offense she alleges bothers her from years ago.
Her desperation is way too real. Plus, we all know how badly she needs to be on this show and it’s obviously way better to be a part of Real Housewives of New Jersey if you are in Teresa’s good graces. So I am not at all surprised that she put her pride aside and came crawling back to Teresa, but I am honestly a little shocked that she just showed up instead of scheduling a standard RHONJ-style sit down to be more dramatic. But then again, Teresa was on house arrest, so I guess she couldn’t exactly pull that move. At the very least, she could have called ahead of time.
