After the blow up between Dorinda, Bethenny Frankel, and Ramona at the brassiere (or “brawr” – depending on who you ask) party, everyone has a drink and Dorinda puffs a Newport Light 100 (or maybe it was one of Jules Wainstein‘s Virginia Slims left over from 1977 kept in a fireproof dry box under the bed, the blessed creatures pulled out for emergencies only. She better buy some on eBay to get through Real Housewives Of New York).
Tonight’s episode of Watch What Happens Live featured a pretty laid back Sonja Morgan and an always adorable Fredrik Eklund. Amy Schumer was originally scheduled to be there with Ramona, but Amy had a throat issue and is hoping to make an appearance next week, where Ramona is now scheduled.
They jump right in with questions. Is Sonja helping Luann de Lessepsplan her wedding? “We do spend a lot of time talking about it. She is over the moon excited.” Andy mentions that Sonja dated Lu’s guy, “That’s right, so I know both very well.” And she confirms that Ramona dated him, too. “It’s going to be very interesting, you’ll have to watch.”
To quote Bethenny, Dorinda quips, “I have to say that the gild is not only off this lily, but it has been scraped off, melted off, trampled on, etc,” and “proves that this wasn’t ‘the summer & fall of zero f—s,’ because I’m clearly in [Bethenny’s] radar.”
“Not only is there a lot to talk about Dorinda, Dorinda, Dorinda, but there’s a FASCINATION with my life and relationship with John,” she points out.
Ramona seems to be having difficulty keeping confidences close with her old friendships – she’s reportedly having issues with Sonja, and her unhappiness with Dorinda’s choice of boyfriend is really bringing out the worst in old Pinot!
Bethenny warns: “Buckle up. This train is now leaving the station and there is no conductor.” She starts off questioning why Jules picked that particular day out of all her years to try to learn to make coffee – seemed a bit contrived, right? “As far as Jules not knowing how to make coffee after claiming to make breakfast every day, that’s just odd. So on this very day, when the camera crews are there and you’re doing your daily ritual, this is the day you will learn to make coffee. This was confusing.”
Luann de Lesseps andSonja Morgan room-mating it up this season on Real Housewives of New York is my new favorite thing about the Real Housewives. These two co-habitating is going to be comedic gold. (We need more franchises to try this out!) In her new blog this week, The Countess talks about life at Sonja’s townhouse and so much more.
There’s a lot of Kool-Aid drinking going on in the Real Housewives this week! First it was happening over in Beverly Hills and now it has spread to NYC. Gives new meaning to “there’s something in the water.” Luann writes, “As I watched this episode and heard what some of the ladies had to say about me, it became apparent which girls are my true friends and which are not. With Bethenny, once she stops talking to you, she starts talking about you. She’s obviously been drinking the Carole Kool-Aid.”
Is she frienemies now with Ramona? “It’s a process. I’ve known her for a long time and you don’t just throw away friendship. We’ve gone through a lot – divorces, she was at my husband’s funeral, raised children together, so this isn’t a “Housewife Friendship,” this is a 20 year relationship.”
The episode awakens amid the chaotic domestic scene of Jules Wainstein‘s morning. I presume the live-in nanny doesn’t do childcare before 9am? Jules struggles to make coffee for husband Michael, then announces she’s eating half his breakfast, and then puts both kids in the bathtub, even though they’re perilously perched on being late to school – as always. Not that Jules cares. Paying tuition entitles her to reinvent the clock, so she can be an hour late everyday if she wants to. It’s Jules‘ world and we’re all living on Jules time – it’s hair flip o’clock somewhere!
