If you recall Tony proposed to Blakely at the BP3 finale with a $100,000 Neil Lane ring and a tearful Blakeley ecstatically said yes. Blakeley relocated to Portland, OR to live with Tony and his young son and a mere ONE MONTH (that's some Kim Kardashian time!) later the couple has called it quits.
"Unfortunately, things didn't work as we had hoped," Tony told with Wetpaint. "No one is to blame. It just ended up being a lot harder than we expected. I wish her nothing but the absolute best. She deserves total happiness."
Bachelor Pad returns on July 23 on ABC! Which The Bachelor and The Bachelorette rejects will get a second (third, fourth, fifth) chance at finding true love on reality TV? Ha, only if you’re Holly Durst and Blake Julian. More than likely, this ego-heavy cast is more interested in hooking up and collecting the cash prize of $250,000. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I like my TV to be dirty and not too deep.
New twist this season – six hand-selected super fans of the franchise will join the Bachelor Pad fun. Fresh meat!!
Perhaps one of the most self-absorbed contestants is none other than Emily Maynard‘s pariah Kalon McMahon. Kalon, the luxury brand consultant whose preferred mode of transportation is a helicopter, got himself kicked to the curb this week after referring to Emily’s daughter as budget-basement baggage. The comment brought out Emily’s West Virginia hood rat backwoods side, which is the most exciting thing to happen all season. If Kalon can bring personality out of Emily, I’m all for his presence on the Bachelor Pad!
It’s your daily dose of Bachelorette with a heaping side of Harrison…add some Bachelor Pad for dessert sprinkled with just the right amount of hook ups, implants, and shame. Let’s dig in, shall we?
The always lovely and good-natured Chris Harrison, host of all three train wrecks love quests, opened up to The Huffington Post about his favorite couples through the years. He reveals, “Trista and Ryan [Sutter] were just lightning in a bottle. I don’t know if we’ll ever capture anything like that again. That one will always stand out.” The couple was the first of the franchise to actually wed (on television, of course), and now they have two children together.
Another of Chris’ favorite love birds were our current Bachelorette Emily Maynard and two-time BachelorBrad Womack. He tells the site, “I felt like the two of them were meant to be and it was gonna work. When they broke up, I was really sad.” Well, you certainly know if you’re tuning into this season that Em has stolen Chris Harrison’s heart along with those of her suitors.
“Everybody’s had this appetite for her,” Chris continues. “She’s so contagious. You just want to care for her, you want to root for her, you want her to do well, and that really makes for a perfect Bachelorette. When her name came up [to be the next Bachelorette], we started bantering about and it was a unanimous home run. It’s very rare that it’s unanimous.”
Every season of the Bachelorhas that one super cray overly emotional contestant and unfortunately for Jenna Burke, she was “that girl” this season!
Ben Flajnik ended up eliminating the NYC blogger last week following two episodes of a cry-fest. In a recent interview with the press, Jenna, 27, reveals she doesn’t blame Ben for sending her packing.
“Watching it, I wanted to shake myself and say, get a grip,” says Jenna. “I would have sent myself home, to be honest,” she says adding that she was able to laugh at herself while watching the episodes. Glad to know she was laughing with the rest of us!
Jenna goes on to blame a bad break up for her being overly emotional and vulnerable. “It was just a rocky start. A lot of people react differently. I think we all have our own insecurities. I apparently cry and other girls come off more aggressive.” She adds: “Everyone always talks about strategy. I had no strategy. I thought, am I supposed to have one? I thought this was about finding a connection.”
Calling her time on the show “one big therapy session,” Jenna, however, owns up to her behavior on the show. “I’m owning it. I cried a lot. I’m human. My emotions and nerves got the best of me. But… I have no regrets,” she says.
And her thoughts on Ben today? “I think Ben is a great guy. It’s tough to be in that situation with all these women vying for your attention. He maintained his sanity and went with the flow,” says Jenna.
Jenna also shared her thoughts on two troublemakers of the most controversial contestants thus far, a.k.a Courtneyand Blakeley. “The girl does have a heart. But I think we all have our insecurities. The way Blakeley deals with her insecurities is she’s more aggressive. She can only stay strong for so long,” Jenna says of Blakeley. When it comes to Courtney, she adds: “I just know she’s a model. She plays with her hair a lot. After watching the show, I think there’s a serious case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.”
Moving on to tonight’s new episode as a mystery woman will be coming on to the show to try to win Ben’s heart!
According to OK! magazine, the mystery woman is not an ex-girlfriend of Ben’s but rather the ex of former BachelorBrad Womack! Yes Shawntel Newton, who was dumped by Brad after the hometown dates on his season, comes on the show to fight for Ben’s love. Seriously what are these women seeing in Ben that we’re not???
“It’s Shawntel, and I’m here to date Ben,” Shawtel announces to the girls in a preview of tonight’s episode. “You don’t know Ben!” one of the girls screams. It appears poor Shawntel will be receiving a very negative reception from the other ladies! How will Ben feel about this surprise?
We will find out tonight (8/7c) on ABC.

The latest diss comes from Ben Flajnik, as the newBachelortakes a not so subtle shot at the woman who turned down his proposal in a new interview with UsWeekly.
When asked what his biggest lesson was as a contestant on Ashley’s Bachelorette season, Ben replies: “To be open to surprises. When I first got to The Bachelorette, I wasn’t too enthralled with Ashley being the girl, but as time went on, it worked pretty well. It’s important to look past some of those initial reactions.” Wow.
The isn’t the first instance of Ben being a jerk as he also reportedly dissed Jennifer Love Hewittafter his infamous date with her last year. Sources revealed back then that Ben told friends he found her to be a bit crazy during their date and was not interested in a second date with her.
When it comes to his ideal type, Ben reveals he loves “a passionate, confident woman. Someone I can take to a party and look at across the room and smile, and know she’s got this. I’m more attracted to brunettes, but then I never find myself dating them, which is weird. And I’m a total leg and butt guy.” Good to know Ben!
Moving on to Monica Spannbauer, who has quickly become the most controversial contestant on Ben’s season, well next to the super cray/emotional Jenna, all thanks to her antics on the show.
On Monday’s premiere episode, Monica paid very little attention to Ben and instead spent most of her night flirting with fellow contestant Blakeley Shea. This led to a ton of speculation that Monica is perhaps more interested in the ladies than the boring Ben!
While the contestants are not allowed to do interviews until they are eliminated from the show, Monica’s stepmother Sherry Ekberg, is now defending her via an interview with Star Magazine.
According to stepmom Sherry, Monica is not gay or bisexual, and blames alcohol for her steamy advance towards Blakeley. Monica could be seen telling Blakeley: “You’re beautiful; you’re amazing.”
Sherry tells Star that the show’s producers “really like to keep [the contestants] intoxicated, so anything can happen at that point… they keep them a little looped up.” Sherry adds that Monica isn’t “too pleased” with the way she was portrayed on Monday’s season premiere.
“They… portrayed her as something she’s not,” Sherry said. “Sometimes they’ll do anything they can for the publicity — that’s probably the only reason it’s on the show.” All righty then Monica’s stepmom!
A new episode of The Bachelor airs tonight on ABC at 8/7c.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON BEN’S DISS TO ASHLEY? IS HE A JERK OR JUST BEING HONEST? PLUS IS MONICA’S STEPMOM IN DENIAL?
With just three weeks until the premiere of The Bachelor season 16, ABC has released the photos of the 25 contestants vying for Ben Flajnik’s heart!
On the season opener, Ben, 29, a winemaker from Sonoma, meets his 25 potential soul mates as he begins his search for “true love.” And in a twist, Ben is taken aback on the first night when Sheryl, a sprite senior citizen, steps out of the limo and confesses she is madly in love with him. But according to the rumor mill, it appears Sheryl was simply there to introduce her granddaughter to Ben.
The ABC press release promises us some more interesting characters such as: “Erika, the young law student, informs Ben that the verdict is in and he is convicted of being sexy. Emily, the germ conscious epidemiologist, doesn’t miss a beat, quickly sanitizing both herself and Ben before grabbing the season’s first kiss. And in a questionable move, Anna decides that Ben should only get a look at her before she struts right by him and straight into the mansion. But what is her real motive? Lindzi arrives on horseback in time to intrigue Ben and capture his attention. And finally, Jenna, a New York blogger, breaking down into tears over early drama with fellow bachelorette Monica.”
The new season of The Bachelor returns to ABC on Jan. 2 (8/7c).
