Last time on Teen Mom 2, Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert made their relationship official. Kailyn Lowry dumped Jordan in favor of getting back togeher with Jo Rivera, while Chelsea Houska agreed to give therapy a try in order to (finally!) get over Adam Lind. Finally, Jenelle Evans managed to avoid jail time after failing a drug test and met a new guy, Josh.
For reasons unknown, MTV decided to air Teen Mom 2 on Christmas Eve and began with Chelsea. Said in my best whiny Chelsea voice… uh-ugh…. Chelsea brings her orange skin, raccoon eyes, bleached-to-death hair, and frosty lips to the nail salon. Luckily, Chelsea and mom Mary have both removed their hair feathers, so there's room in the car for Aubree. Thank goodness for small favors. For a while there, I expected to see the hair feathers listed in the opening credits.
I'm elated Aubree comes to the nail salon. She is adorable and makes Chelsea's scenes bearable. I digress. While Chelsea, Mary, and Aubree get manicures, Chelsea announces that she's dropping out of therapy. She doesn't think she needs to go because the therapist didn't tell her anything she doesn't already know. Chelsea is all like, Everything she told me about boundaries and healthy and unhealthy relationships, I've already heard from every other person in my life. Basically, Chelsea doesn't want one more person – a person with a "dishing out advice" degree to boot – telling her that Ad-dumm is no good for her.
Obviously, Teen Mom 2 is slightly behind real time, as Leah has remarried, suffered a miscarriage, and announced a third pregnancy (whew!) since that episode had been taped. In all fairness to MTV, they aren't that behind, Leah just moves really, really fast.
While Leah has moved on from her marriage to Corey, some Teen Mom 2 fans (and haters) have not. During Monday night's episode, Leah tweeted about her frustrations about… Twitter.
Apparently, the stars of Teen Mom want to accomplish as much as they can before they're of legal drinking age. One Teen Mom 2 star will have three college degrees babies before 21, one Teen Mom star has undergone three plastic surgeries, and one Teen Mom 2 star has logged three (to the tenth power) acts of volunteerism breakups and reconciliations before 21.
Leah confirmed the US Weekly story via facebook and tweeted:
"THANKS SOOO MUCH EVERYONE! #PositiveTweets makes this momma soooo happy!!! @Calvert505 are in such a good place! Love all of you!"
"Being a teen mom was difficult, but I'm older and in a different place now — married to Jeremy and excited for our family to grow," Leah said. "We feel incredibly blessed and look forward to this next chapter in our lives." Oh, Leah, why the rush? You might be "older" but you are still only 20.
Next, this week's In Touch cover revealed (more) plastic surgery for a different Teen Mom star.
Those Teen Moms. They’re like future-Housewives-in-training.
After being accused of having a nasty drug habit that includes LSD and prescription drugs and then breaking up with her allegedly-abusive boyfriend, Jenelle Evans is going to try to win back custody of her son, Jace.
Jenelle’s lawyer tells Radar Online that the Teen Mom 2 star is trying to straighten out her life and will request that the judge let her off probation early. To show how serious she is, she even deleted her Twitter account, y’all!
Her attorney says “Jenelle is trying to straighten her life out and the first step she’s taking is going to court and requesting that a judge let her out of probation. Jenelle has been doing really well. She is doing everything she is supposed to do and I’ve seen a big improvement in her life.”
Didn’t that violent drama with Gary Head just go down like two days ago? I suppose, two days is like two years passing by in Teen Mom Land.
Her mom has temporary custody of her son, but Jenelle is hoping to regain custody soon. “Nothing has been filed but Jenelle has expressed an interest in getting custody of Jace back. She would really like to have Jace back with her again.”
Moving along. In other Teen Mom news, Leah Messer’s friends are concerned that she rushed into her marriage to Jeremy Calvert.
After just eight months of dating, Leah and Jeremy tied the knot last week (in a private ceremony with cameras rolling) and now her friends are speaking out, claiming they are worried that Leah is still much too in love with ex-husband Corey Simms for her marriage to work.
Her “friend” says she’s settling with Jeremy because he’s safe: “Leah isn’t in love with Jeremy the way she loved Corey. She trusts Jeremy and knows he’s good for her daughters. Right now, that’s more important than how she feels.”
I’m sure that makes Jeremy feel special. Although, Leah did admit just a month ago that she still had feelings for Corey, so it shouldn’t be too big of a shock to hear.
Speaking of Leah’s twin daughters, Ali has just hit an important milestone. Sources report that the developmentally-delayed two year old has started walking!
“Ali is able to walk when someone stands behind her while holding her hand. It’s a major step toward walking solo. ”
The toddler is excited to finally start running around with her sister, Aleeah. “She wants to be able to run around and play with Aleeah!”
TELL US – DO YOU THINK JENELLE EVANS SHOULD REGAIN CUSTODY OF HER SON? HAS SHE GROWN UP AT ALL? DO YOU THINK LEAH AND JEREMY ARE DOOMED TO FAIL?
The local paper states that the intimate affair was officiated by the Reverend Marty Gute, a city commissioner and minister in Ashland. It was attended by a very small number of family, including Leah’s twin daughters, with ex-husband Corey Simms, and close friends…as well as MTV camera crews, of course!
Reverend Gute reveals that he received a phone call from MTV producers on Tuesday, hoping for permission to film inside the chapel. He recalls, “When I asked what was going on, they said it was for the Leah Simms wedding, and that name didn’t ring a bell at first.” However, when Gute told his wife and daughter about the phone call, they both knew exactly who he would be marrying.
“I think they wanted to keep it out of the news, but the producer said he knew it would hit Facebook soon,” Gute continued. “He asked my daughter not to tweet about it, though.” He also believes that the couple will have a larger, more public wedding in the near future. Of course they will!
Citing Leah and Jeremy’s nuptials as one of the most exciting he’s officiated, Gute is not stranger to marrying pseudo-celebs. He tells the newspaper, “We’ve had two couples on Jerry Springer — one from Boyd County and one from Ashland.” Yup, it sounds about right to add Leah into that mix.
Reverend Gute states that the mothers of the bride and groom served as witnesses, and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. The wedding was scheduled to begin at 3pm, but apparently didn’t start until 4:30 due to the couple attaining their marriage license at the Boyd County Courthouse and procuring their rings at a local pawn shop pre-ceremony. Needless to say that MTV cameras were on-hand to film those things as well.
Regardless, “Everybody was happy and joyful and took a ton of pictures,” exclaims the Reverend. No word yet on how Corey or his camo hat are feeling about the newlyweds!
ARE YOU SURPRISED TO HEAR ABOUT LEAH AND JEREMY’S WEDDING? DO YOU THINK IT WILL LAST? COMMENTS ON HOW COREY IS LIKELY FEELING RIGHT ABOUT NOW?
The latest issue of OK! Magazine states that things are very shaky with the couple, adding that they in fact broke up earlier this year, but shortly got back together.
“It’s a daily struggle for them to get along right now,” a source tells OK!. “He is under a lot of pressure at work and he brings it home with him.”
The source continues, “They usually make up pretty quickly, but the constant bickering is really wearing on Jeremy. He’s been complaining to his friends about it so much that everyone is wondering if he’s going to break up with Leah permanently.”
Another issue for the couple, is their lack of trust. Leah, 19, is reportedly very suspicious of Jeremy, 22 (perhaps those reports of him with strippers has to do with it) while Jeremy believes Leah’s not over her ex-husband and father of her twins Corey Simms, and has accused her of still being in love with him.
“Her paranoia really stresses Jeremy out and it’s pushing him away,” reveals the source. “She needs to loosen up the reins a little, but the problems aren’t all Leah’s fault. Jeremy is a typical guy and he can be really insensitive sometimes.” As reported, Leah also suffered a miscarriage earlier this year.
Moving on to troubled Teen MomAmber Portwood, who is now reportedly considering getting into porn. Yikes.
According to Reality Weekly, Vivid Entertainment offered Amber $500,000 last year to star in a porno movie. Amber of course turned down the offer, but sources close to her are now claiming she has had a change of heart and is considering it due to her mounting legal fees.
Even worse for Amber, 21, who revealed in court that she earns $280,000 a year from MTV, the network just announced last week that the upcoming season of her Teen Mom series will be the last.
“Her paycheck from MTV only goes so far, and she’s really worried it will soon all be over,” a source tells Reality Weekly. “And Amber hasn’t gotten any other offers as far as TV shows or promotions.”
But unfortunately–or fortunately–for Amber, Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch says his company is no longer interested in having Amber display her talents on screen.
“We would not be willing to pay Amber $500,000 anymore,” Vivid Entertainment CEO Steven tells the HollywoodLife. “I don’t believe she is as popular as she once was. She was more of a novelty.”

TELL US – DO YOU THINK LEAH AND JEREMY WILL MAKE IT? THOUGHTS ON THE LATEST WITH AMBER?
It must be time for salary negotiations because rumors are popping up that Teen Mom 2 stars/train wrecks Leah Messer and Jenelle Evans are threatening to leave the show that made them thousandaires.
While, Jenelle no doubt needs the extra cash for her legal fees and tattoo habit, a source tells Reality Weekly that Leah has developed quite an ego since becoming “famous” and hilariously says that “She really has gotten a big head because of all the attention. A lot of people in Elk View joke that she’s like the redneck Kim Kardashian.” Does that mean fiancé Jeremy Calvertis her Kris Humphries? Will they get married for 72 hours?
To be fair, Leah has had a very difficult year; she had a miscarriage and was assaulted by a group of women. She feels she’s given a lot to the show, and the show owes her for her pain and suffering, including her divorce to Corey Simms. “Leah says she’s fed up with the interference in her life, and she can’t take any more.”
Jeremy still hasn’t appeared on the show, and it’s easy to see why. The source says, “It’s no wonder she’s cautious. She’s already been through more stress in a year then some people face in a lifetime.”
As for Jenelle, she gets brownie points for having her manager (yes, she has one) go on the record, with his actual name, to advocate for her raise. Her manager, Leo Daniels, says it’s time for more money: ”She needs to renegotiate because she’s not getting anything near what the other girls are getting, and she’s the highest rated Teen Mom.”
She’s the highest rated because no one can turn away. Like many cocky reality stars before her, Jenelle feels she has the upper hand in this negotiation. Some unnamed insider is quoted saying, “She feels certain that she deserves a raise, but there are plenty of other options out there. She will quit the show if she doesn’t get that extra money.”
Beware this strategy, ladies! The network will call your bluff and fire you. Just ask a few housewives how well this works. There are many other teen moms waiting in the wings and happy to replace you. I say keep that MTV salary. It’s more than most normal folks will ever see.
