Just when you thought all was well with Jon Gosselin and ex-wife Kate Gosselin, comes news that Jon is planning to sue Kate for primary custody of their eight children.
Jon’s new lawyer, Anthony F. List, tells TMZ that Jon is going to court to ask for primary physical custody and spousal support from Kate.
The reason? Well apparently Jon believes Dancing With The Stars is keeping Kate from being a good mother, with his lawyer calling Kate an “absentee mom.” And Jon plans to use the fact that Kate is doing DWTS as evidence that Kate is not spending “quality time with the 8 kids.”
Another issue on the table is the amount of child support Jon is having to pay Kate. Jon’s lawyer reveals Jon is currently paying Kate an enormous $22,000 a month in child support. The attorney feels the amount is “ridiculous,” and may ask a judge to reverse the arrangement and demand that Kate pay Jon.
Kate has however said in previous interviews that she’s only away from her kids from Sundays to Tuesdays, as most of her practicing is done at her house in Pennsylvania.
UPDATE: Kate has issued the following statement – “I am not willing to comment in public on the custody discussions regarding my children. What I will say is this: I am and always will be a mother first, but as a single working mom I will do everything necessary to provide for my kids despite the opinions of others.”
TELL US – DOES JON HAVE A CASE? IS IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR KATE TO BE A GOOD MOM AND DO DWTS?
The Jon & Kate Plus 8mom took out her $7,000 hair extensions but fret not! (the two people that care that is) as Kate’s hair stylist, Ted Gibson, reveals Kate,34, will be getting some new extensions put in on Thursday.
“We’ll be doing color, we’ll be doing extensions, we’ll be getting her ready for her premiere on ‘Dancing With the Stars!'” said Ted, adding that Kate’s new extensions will include a few different shades of blond. “The extensions will last through the whole time she’s on the show.”
Kate is also featured on the cover of the new issue of PEOPLE magazine during which she defends the criticism she has received on her decision to do DWTS. Some critics believe it’s not in the best interest of her eight kids to do the show. “You say I’m a bad mom, it destroys me,” says Kate who insists she can balance fame and family.
As we previously reported, Kate will be practicing in her family home in Pennsylvania, and then heading to Los Angles from Sunday to Tuesday to film the show.
Kate also reveals she wants to do this for her children. “If I last two weeks on the show, I’ve shown my kids that hard work and perseverance pays off,” says Kate. “And if I don’t win, I’ve shown them you don’t always have to come in first. You just have to keep on trying.”
TELL US: IS IT A BAD IDEA FOR KATE TO DO DWTS WHILE HAVING EIGHT CHILDREN AT HOME?
It seems Jon Gosselin has finally realized the whole world sees him as a douche, or perhaps it’s just that darn pesky threat of multi-million lawsuit by TLC, but it seems the Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad has taken a hint, and now only speaks out when he has something positive to say.
Jon released the following statement via his private twitter account concerning he’s ex-wife, Kate Gosselin’s appearance on Dancing With The Stars. “Congratulations to Kate for joining the new season of DWTS. I am thrilled for her. She has my support and vote,” Jon, 32, wrote.
But it didn’t end there as he continued, “Here is to 2010 for new beginnings and leaving the past mistakes in 2009.”
A “source” however reveals to UsWeekly that’s Jon’s well wishes might not be genuine. “Jon’s angry because doing Dancing with the Stars will keep [Kate] away from the kids for days, and she still won’t let him have extra custody…Nannies will watch them instead of Jon,” declares the source.
Jon’s rep (yes he really has one) however denied this to UsWeekly, claiming Jon is truly happy for Kate.
Though ABC is set to officially announce the new cast on tonight’s finale of The Bachelor, entertainment reporter and co-host of Los Angeles’ KEARTH 101’s morning show, Lisa Stanley, was able to confirm that the Jon & Kate Plus 8 mom is already in LA practicing her dance moves at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel “under a shroud of security.” Her eight kids are said to be back home in Pennsylvania.
This shouldn’t come as a big surprise as Kate, 34, previously revealed to Jay Leno on his prime-time show that she’d like to appear on DWTS, despite having two left feet. “I want to laugh at myself. I so cannot dance. It would be a sad sight,” she said.
In other DWTS news, TMZ is now confirming Paula Abdul has rejected ABC’s offer to have her appear on the show. As we previously reported, ABC had offered Paula a $1,000,000 development deal to do the show. According to TMZ, Paula is still in talks with American Idol judge Simon Cowell, about becoming a judge on his upcoming new show - The X Factor.
TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON KATE GOSSELIN APPEARING ON DWTS?
TLC and Jon Gosselinhave finally come to terms in their lawsuits against each other.
TLC released a statement today confirming it has reached a settled with theJon & Kate Plus 8 dad. “TLC has reached a settlement with Jon Gosselin and will be undertaking procedural steps to conclude the litigation. All terms of the settlement are confidential. The whole Gosselin family remain under contract with TLC,” TLC said in a statement released Wednesday.
This all started when Jon decided to ban TLC from filming his eight children last year citing an epiphany that she show was hurting them. Coincidentally this epiphany just happened to occur days after TLC announced it would no longer have Jon on the hit show, thus changing the name of the show to Kate Plus 8.
TLC alleged Jon had breached his contract and sued him. Jon in return filed a countersuit against TLC for millions. TLC won the first round as a Judge banned Jon from doing any interviews or paid appearances last December. We reported weeks ago that Jon was willing to allow TLC to film his kids again if they would drop their suit against him.
TLC’s Wednesday statement adds that “The whole Gosselin family remain under contract with TLC.”
Jon’s ex-wife, Kate Gosselin’suntitled show is still set to debut sometime later this year on TLC. The program will not focus on the couple’s eight kids. No word yet on whether TLC will now continue with Kate Plus 8.
Jon’s attorney, Mark Heller, released the following statement -
“Jon has expressed his desire to close the litigation chapter of Jon & Kate Plus 8 and although all terms are confidential, he is hopeful that TLC will move forward with the best interests of the Gosselin family. Sometimes litigants that kiss and make up find their relationship is better the second time around. As Jon’s attorney I truly hope that this new adventure for TLC and the Gosselins is a much more joyful journey.”
There is nothing like a woman scorned, and Hailey Glassman continues to prove this in her latest cover story and shocking new interview with Steppin Out magazine. It was rather challenging to try to read this with a straight face.
The 23 year old ex-girlfriend of Jon Gosselin takes some very very cheap shots at her ex. In the new interview, Hailey goes into very graphic detail when discussing, or describing rather, the “manhood” of Jon, and even goes into detail about having sex with the 32-year old Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad.
“He was so small I didn’t think he would cheat on me,” sniped Hailey. “He’s hung like a nine-year-old boy,” she snipes. “I’m serious. This is true,” she adds, claiming he only measures up to “3 inches.” Ouch.
Hailey assures us she is telling the truth and challenges that “anybody who sleeps with him will notice. It’s very noticeable. It’s so tiny, tiny, tiny.” Hailey adds that she “would laugh about it with my mom.” Nothing like some good ol bonding with your mommy while discussing your ex’s manhood.
But Hailey doesn’t end her diss there, she continued to go for the jugular saying she was very vocal to Jon about his umm – “shortcomings,” which he of course didn’t find very funny at all. “He said, ‘You know how subconscious [sic] I am of down there,'” Hailey recalls. “I would tell him to his face, ‘I don’t think you would cheat on me because you’re so small.’ I would tell him that all the time.”
The ever classy Hailey closes out her TMI sex talk by sharing — “Having sex with Jon was bittersweet.”
After ending things with Hailey last year, Jon is now dating Utah native, Morgan Christie, 25. Things with Hailey ended rather badly as Jon allegedly owed Hailey over $90,000, and Hailey allegedly ransacked and destroyed Jon’s New York apartment. Hailey also accused Jon of physically attacking her.

Well well well, it seems there is good reason Jon Gosselin is wanting to settle his current lawsuit with TLC. As we reported this weekend, Jon is now willing to allow TLC to film his kids again as long as they drop their current suit against him.
TMZ is reporting the Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad wants to settle because he is simply too broke to fight TLC over the breach of contract lawsuit the network filed against him.
According to sources, Jon is not doing well financially, especially after TLC won an injunction last December prohibiting him from violating the non-compete clause in his contract, meaning he can’t make money by doing things he normally does – such as selling photos to magazines, being paid to appear on other shows, etc.
RadarOnline is also reporting that Jon has actually been talking to TLC about a settlement for the past 2 weeks. Apparently the only way TLC will agree to settle and drop the lawsuit against him is if he agrees to abide by the terms of his contract, no questions asked. TLC is reportedly wary of agreeing to this as they do not trust Jon.
In other news, Jon’s ex wife, Kate Gosselin hit up New York city this weekend and showed off her new shorter cut (she visited a hair salon earlier in the day). According to RadarOnline, she had dinner with a mystery man. Kate will be back in NYC March 11, as she is scheduled to guest host The View again that day.
Jon Gosselin has possibly hit a new low in his life regarding his public image and family. RadarOnline is now reporting that the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad will be willing to allow TLC to film his children again under one condition — if they drop their lawsuit against him.
Jon is currently being sued by TLC for breaching the contract he signed with them. This all started when TLC decided they no longer wanted Jon on the hit reality show due to his deteriorating public image and publicity stunts. TLC decided they would still pay Jon though he would no longer be on the show. Even more importantly, Jon would be free to do whatever new show or business endeavors he wished.
For some strange reason, Jon decided the above wasn’t good enough and banned TLC from filming his kids just days after TLC announced it wanted to change the name of the show to Kate Plus Eight. Jon lied claimed back then that he had an epiphany that the show was damaging to his children.
TLC had no choice but to stop filming the children. They however in return decided to sue Jon for a breach of contract, and even hired one of the best law-firms in the country. They won a preliminary injunction against Jon last December, prohibiting him from engaging in behavior that violates the non-compete clause in his contract, meaning Jon was no longer allow to do any paid or non paid interviews, as well as sell photos of himself and his children.
His children’s well being be damned, Jon is now ready to make a deal according to Radar. And the deal is simple, he will allow TLC to begin filming his children again as long as they drop the lawsuit against him.
A source however tells RadarOnline, that no matter what TLC decides, Jon would never return to the hit show. “You can be sure that if the kids come back to TLC it will be only with Kate, not with Jon. And there’s no guarantee that will happen either.”
TLC has since moved on and have been working a new show for Kate Gosselin, one that does not involve the children. It is however possible that Kate Plus 8 could return as several specials, rather than a regular series.
As of now, TLC has yet to respond to Jon’s offer, and all the talk about a settlement is coming from Jon only, who is clearly getting the short end of the stick in the litigation. He’s been restricted from making money off his reality TV fame and is no longer receiving a TLC paycheck. His trial is scheduled to begin in the Spring.
There are also reports that Jon was ordered to pay $10,000 a month in child support to ex-wife Kate. This is addition to the $90,000 he allegedly owes his ex girlfriend Hailey Glassman. Jon’s attorney Mark Heller however threatens the public promises RadarOnline: “You haven’t seen the last of Jon Gosselin.”
