Roberto then got on one knee and proposed to an accepting Ali, which seemed like a traditional ending for the ABC hit show. The surprise of the night however came when Ali, 25, told finalist Chris Lambton, a 33-year-old contractor from Cape Cod, Mass., that she was in love with Roberto — just before the two were supposed to go on their final date, definitely a first in the show’s history.
“I’m in love with somebody else. I have to let you go here and not wait until tomorrow. This wasn’t an easy decision. It was really hard. I just didn’t want to put you through tomorrow because I know that’s going to be so hard,” said Ali to Chris.
Roberto, 26, had longed been the front runner of the show from the start, after receiving the first impression rose from Ali. Oddly enough, this is the first time in the show’s history that the person who received the first impression rose came out the winner.
“I love Roberto,” gushed Ali. “I love him. I’ve never ever in my whole life felt this good in a relationship.”
Ali and Roberto also appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show Monday night, during which Ali revealed she and Roberto would like to walk down the aisle “in the spring” of next year.
Now that the show is over, the question on everyone’s minds is who will be the next Bachelor? It has been rumored that Ty Brown from this Bachelorette season was being considered, but according to the show insider, Reality Steve, ABC would like Chris Lambton for the upcoming season.
Reality Steve reported yesterday that Chris, 33, has been offered the next Bachelor spot and that he will likely accept. The official announcement will come from ABC any day now.
TELL US: WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SEASON FINALE? WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE CHRIS AS THE BACHELOR?
The ‘Men Tell All‘ reunion of the Bachelorette is set to air tonight on ABC, during which Ali Fedotowsky will be forced to face all the contestants she eliminated this season.
So what can we expect tonight? This seems to be the big question as the most memorable and most controversial contestants from this season will be absent from tonight’s show. Three timing douche Justin Rego, and heart-breaker Frank Neuschaefer did not attend the taping. Also not in attendance are finalists Roberto Martinez and Chris Lambton. Even the controversial Craig McKinnon was not in attendance.
While Justin did not attend the taping, as he has claimed in the past that the Bachelorette producers gave him a bad edit, his absence did not stop the other guys from bashing him.
“The guy is evil. He wanted to make it to the final three and sabotage everything she wanted to do,” Craig R. tells host Chris Harrison. “I am speaking for each one of you right now that none of us feel we want to continue any ongoing friendship with him.”
ContestantTy Brown, who is rumored to be in the running to be the next Bachelor, also brings up the fact that Justin received the most votes the very first night when the guys voted him as the one who was there for the wrong reason, saying, “How could 25 guys be wrong?” Weatherman Jonathan Novack also gets ganged up on tonight, as the guys scold him for not being forthcoming when Craig M. asked who had ratted him out to Ali as “dangerous.”
In other Bachelorette news, PEOPLE magazine is reporting that Kirk DeWindt, who was eliminated by Ali after making it to the final 4, has since moved on.
According to PEOPLE, Kirk is now dating Jessie Sulidis, who competed with Ali for Jake Pavelka’s heart during the former season of the Bachelor.
The two reportedly met during an after party for the July 17th taping of the Men Tell All, during which they exchanged numbers and a kiss. Kirk is said to be driving to Canada this weekend to visit Jesse and a source tells the mag “he is definitely over Ali!” Jesse will also be appearing on the upcoming Bachelor Pad.
While the entire world focused solely on the Jake and Vienna reunion showdown that took place on Monday night’s episode of the Bachelorette, a certain eliminated contestant got lost in the shuffle.
Ty Brown, a 31-year-old medical sales rep from Nashville, TN, found himself the latest bachelor to be eliminated by Ali Fedotowsky, right before the hometown visits on the show.
In a new interview with EtOnline, Ty discusses his elimination, who he predicts will win Ali’s heart in the end, and if he’s open to being the next Bachelor.
Excerpts from his interview below -
When Ali let you go, you didn’t seem to be that emotional. Were you more shocked than sad? Or did it sink in later?
Ty Brown: Nobody wants to get let go, especially at that stage in the show. I suppose you are right. I was shocked. At the same time, if I was going to be going home before being the last person there, it was almost relieving because I didn’t have to get my family involved. At the same time, I was disappointed that I went home. She made the decision she made. I had a great time doing it and it was fun. I didn’t get as emotional as people do, but it was overwhelming at the time.
You have always had a music career. How receptive are people now that you have been on “The Bachelorette”?
Ty Brown: It is funny how country music fans accept you. I have been playing around for a long time, but it definitely hasn’t hurt anything. When I got back and we finished the song that I wrote on the show, it was amazing to see how many people jumped on board and were like, “This is a great song. This is a great opportunity. You’ve got a great story with this.” They have been very welcoming. The opportunities I have had because of the show are wonderful. I have met and written with some of the best artists and writers in Nashville.
Do you think your conversation with Ali about your first marriage, and the fact that your family was very traditional, and your ideas of what a wife should be going into that first marriage, raised red flags for her?
Ty Brown: I think you are absolutely right. I think it did raise a lot of questions for her. And I wanted to do address that with her and I did the very next week because I did grow up in a traditional lifestyle. My mom was a school teacher, but she waited until the kids were in school to work. My dad, of course, always worked — sometimes two jobs. My mom cooked dinner every night. I did tell her that I grew up in that traditional lifestyle. Does that mean that is what I am looking for? No. I wanted to get that across to her. It thrills me to see somebody who is so ambitious, who knows what she wants and is not scared to speak up and go get it. Someone who has goals set for themselves. That is very attractive to me. I like that. I was trying to get that across to her and maybe I didn’t do such a great job. I think that may be one of the things she was concerned with.
Which of the four remaining guys do you see with Ali?
Ty Brown: There are things about every one of those guys that I like. If I had to pick one, I think Chris L., in my opinion, is one of the better fits for Ali. He is a good guy. It took them a while to hit it off and really get into good conversations. I didn’t know that, but after watching the show, they had good chemistry and a good time together. They had a lot in common. I think his family life was a little different than most everybody else’s.
Do you think she will actually pick someone?
Ty Brown: I have no idea. I hope she does. I hope she picks someone and they are very happy, but who knows?
If they asked you to be the next “Bachelor,” would you?
Ty Brown: If they ask me to be the next “Bachelor,” I would definitely consider it. I am ready to move on with my life and I don’t have anybody. It would be exciting. After being on the show already, I know it is very difficult.
It’s that time again! ABC has released the names and photos of the 25 men competing for the love of Ali Fedotowskyon the sixth season of The Bachelorette.
