The 16 contestants on Dancing With The Stars faced a double elimination during Wednesday’s show. The two couples with the lowest scores were automatically eliminated.

Singer Macy Gray and George Hamilton’s son, Ashley, were the first pair of contestants voted off this season of Dancing With The Stars.

“Ballroom isn’t my calling exactly,” Gray, a 42-year-old Grammy-winner, said. “But I learned a little bit.”

She later thanked everyone on her Twitter account: “Thank you to everybody who voted for us. Specially those who voted a buncha times, like my ma. Thank you thank you.”

Ashley, whose Monday’s foxtrot with sexy pro-dancer Edyta Sliwinska failed to inspire voters, was also gracious in defeat.

“It’s been a blast,” the 34-year-old said after his ouster. “I’ve had a great partner and it was a great experience.”

UPDATE:  Radaronline is reporting that Macy Gray blew off her Wednesday night appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live following her elimination because she was too upset.  This seems to coincide with previous reports that said Macy Gray was being a ‘diva’ during rehearsals, and was very difficult to work with.
