MTV Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood Being Investigated By Police & Child Protective Services

It seems Amber Portwood, star of MTV’s hit show Teen Mom, has landed herself in some pretty big trouble following the latest episode of the show.

According to RadarOnline, Amber, 20, is now being investigated by the Anderson Police Department for domestic violence against her ex-fiance Gary Shirley. This all stems from the last episode of the show which showed Amber losing her temper, in turn hitting and kicking Gary several times during an argument.

The fact that Gary failed to alert the cops isn’t stopping them from moving ahead with their investigation. “We were made aware of the domestic abuse following the episode that aired on MTV,” Anderson Officer Mitch Carroll told RadarOnline.

It gets even worse as the Department of Child Protective Services in Indiana is also investigating Amber. In fact, the child services department is responsible for notifying authorities regarding the domestic abuse incident.

“Once the detective reviews the initial case report…there will need to be interviews conducted with Amber and Gary,” Carroll said. “Anytime you have photographic or video evidence it helps.”

Radar reports that a review of the footage shows that Amber slapped and punched Gary at least seven times.

I finally watched this episode yesterday and I must say I felt awful for Gary. As if the physical abuse wasn’t bad enough, Amber made certain to put him down and verbally abuse him in the worst way possible. It was a pretty hard scene to watch. There shouldn’t be a double standard in this situation as abuse is abuse. I think Amber definitely needs to be prosecuted for domestic violence.
