Bachelor’s Emily Maynard Returns Brad Womack’s Engagement Ring, Officially Over

It’s been quite the “are they or aren’t they, will they or won’t they” relationship for two-time Bachelor contestant Brad Womack and his fiancee Emily Maynard. The most recent of the franchise’s manufactured relationships engagements has been in question for a while now, following speculation over the single mom’s relocation with her daughter to Austin, Texas, and accusations from Brad’s ex-girlfriend.

US Weekly is now reporting that Emily, 25, is the one who finally broke things off for good following a trip to Texas a few weeks ago. Sources say that the long distance relationship was too much for Emily, and she has no plans of uprooting her daughter Ricki from their home in Charlotte, North Carolina. I’d say that is probably a good idea, seeing as Brad’s attempts to woo back his fiancee involve drunk dialing her to profess his love. One source reveals, “Brad and Emily are over, and Brad keeps drunk-dialing her. [He] is such a loser.”

Recently, post-split, Emily has been seen sporting a bare left ring finger. While running errands last week near her home in Charlotte, Emily was spotted sans sparkler, leaving many wondering what became of the ring Brad proposed with on the show’s finale. A source close to the ABC hit divulges that Emily has returned to the ring to the network, adding, “It’s completely over now.”

With these two, it seems the writing has been on the wall for some time now, although I’m sure it won’t be the last we hear of Brad and Emily. Even with several insiders confirming the break-up, a source close to the couple still believes a happy ending is in store for the pair. The friend insists, “They are still together and engaged. They are on and off, but there is a lot of love there. This is just a rough patch.”

Luckily, while we hope they go away wait with baited breath to learn more about the couple, there is an entirely new crop of singles looking for love with Brad’s castoff Ashley Herbert on the newest installment of The Bachelorette. Perhaps the newly single Womack will make an appearance in “the most ridiculous rose ceremoney ever.”
