Geneva Thomas Says Demetria Lucas Overreacted by Disinviting Her to Wedding!

All together Upfront celebration

After this week’s Blood, Sweat, and Heels, it remains to be seen whether Geneva Thomas will be attending former “bestie” Demetria Lucas upcoming wedding. Because she defended her friend, Chantelle Fraser’s behavior at Demetria’s recent book launch (Chantelle was being loud, making a bit of a scene, mouthing off to Demetria’s fiance’ Greg), Demetria has since threatened to dis-invite Geneva from her Big Day. In her latest Bravo blog, Geneva discusses her feelings on the issue, and her reaction to being the last one to learn of cast-mate Daisy Lewellyn’s battle with cancer.

Geneva says she was blindsided by Greg taking such a hard line on the book launch fiasco. She says, “I had no clue Greg would hold on to the issue the way he did. It was all very confusing. I can’t police grown women. That’s not my ministry. The best I could do to fix the issue was to offer my sincerest apology, and I did that to both Greg and Demetria.” Geneva argues that she’s dealt with her own disturbances at work events (i.e., last season’s drunken antics from Melyssa Ford and Mica Hughes at her work event), but she would never go so far as to kick her friends out of the venue. The book launch drama “was nothing like the disturbance I dealt with at my event,” says Geneva, “and I didn’t sick security on Mica and Melyssa.”

When Demetria actually dis-invited her to the wedding, Geneva says, “I was more confused than anything, because it didn’t feel real. It felt awkward and formulaic. This is precisely why I needed to call my mother and my close friend RaVal. I needed to understand it, and they helped me work through what was happening. I’ve never been through anything like that.” Geneva also turned to her family after she heard about Daisy’s cancer battle. She says the news, “immediately made me think of what I was going through with my Aunt Ophelia and my grandmother, two of the closet people in my life. I’ve since lost both of them to cancer in the past six months. It’s been extremely difficult for my family and I.”

As for her thoughts on Chantelle’s skinny dipping, Geneva supports the ladies getting as turned up as they want to while away on a girls’ weekend. “What happens in the Hamptons, stays in the Hamptons. *winks*,” concludes Geneva. Well, what happened last year in the Hamptons certainly didn’t stay there. It grew legs and walked all the way into this season of Blood, Sweat, and Heels
