Thomas Ravenel’s Tweet And Delete: Is He Quitting Southern Charm? Plus, Cooper Ray Believes He And Patricia Altschul Will Repair Their Friendship

I know we’re forging ahead with Southern Charm because, well, I’m watching the episodes every Monday night. But now I think we can officially say we’re in the throes of the season because not only is Thomas Ravenel threatening to quit the show on Twitter, he’s deleted the tweet. Poof! It’s like he never really said it! This formula is as predictable as Craig Conover saying he’s going to take the bar and then not taking it or  Patricia Altschul and her dressing drink.

For his part, T-Rav hasn’t really been involved with the drama thus far, although he’s on the fringe thanks to Kathryn Dennis. She’s being shunned by part of the group, and her friendship with Cooper Ray has caused a rift between Cooper and Mrs. Pat. However, Thomas is once again threatening to jump ship. Sound familiar?

Truth be told, when I was first asked by Reality Tea to do this post, I joked that I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get to it before T-Rav deleted the tweet. Not even five minutes later, he did, but as we all know, nothing disappears on the Internets! Thursday night, Thomas addressed the Twitterverse, writing, “Enjoy Southern Charm if you like me in it bc this will be my last season. They pay peanuts and destroy your life in the process.” What, had he never watched a Bravo reality series before? Given that the tweet has disappeared, does that mean the sentiment is gone as well? I guess we’ll have to wait until next season to know for sure, although I can guarantee this won’t be T-Rav’s last tweet and delete.

In other Southern Charm news, on the heels of our exclusive interview, Cooper is standing by his assertion that Patricia’s iciness is a direct result of his friendship with Kathryn, and nothing more. Speaking to Bravo’s Daily Dish, Cooper reveals, “[Patricia’s] estrangement toward me is due to Kathryn. My estrangement toward her is because she insulted me this summer.”

He recalls Patricia’s assertion, “‘We are not gonna associate with Kathryn Dennis, and if you do, we won’t associate with you,’ and I said, ‘Respectfully, Patricia, I have no reason to not speak to Kathryn.'”

As for the people who warn Cooper he needs to reconcile with Patricia in order to remain on her guest list, Cooper shares that isn’t what’s important. He tells the site, “I’ve been to the gorgeous parties. I’ve thrown the gorgeous parties. Maybe I’m just at that age where I’m gonna be who I am. I’m gonna be true. I’m not gonna be around anything that makes me feel uncomfortable or wrong.”

That said, Cooper doesn’t deny his connection with Patricia, explaining, “Patricia and I are more alike than anybody on the cast. We share so much. We have very similar sets of friends in New York. We have a lot in common, and we are the most well-suited.” He even appreciates her snark, even if it’s directed towards him. Cooper says, “Well, I will say that the ‘poor man’s Truman Capote’ was brilliant. Vintage Patricia, and I loved it,” adding, “I took exception to the fact that she said, ‘He just wants to gossip,’ because I don’t gossip, and I shut it down.”

Of course, Cooper hasn’t ruled out a reconciliation over time. He states, “Of course we’ll have to be friends. We have too much in common.”

TELL US – DO YOU THINK THIS WILL BE THOMAS’ LAST SEASON OF SOUTHERN CHARM? IS THERE HOPE FOR A REKINDLED FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN COOPER AND PATRICIA?
