Dancing With The Stars Pro Cheryl Burke Marries Matthew Lawrence

Dancing With The Stars has led to a lot of happy romantic pairings. Sometimes that sizzling dance-floor chemistry spills over into real life. Pro dancer Kym Johnson dated her dance partner, Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec. The duo later married. Peta Murgatroyd wed fellow pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Emma Slater and Sasha Farber also got hitched.

Pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson tied the knot on April 13, 2019. Cheryl Burke was a guest at Val and Jenna’s wedding, which was held in Rancho Palo Verdes, California.

Now it is Cheryl’s turn to tango down the aisle! Page Six is reporting that the DWTS pro wed actor Matthew Lawrence on May 23. The nuptials were held at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego.

Bob Wolf, who is Cheryl’s step-father, walked her down the aisle. Actress Leah Remini, who competed on DWTS, served as her matron of honor. Cheryl’s sister Nicole and dancing pro Kym Johnson Herjavec were also in the bridal party. Matthew’s brothers, Joey Lawrence and Andy Lawrence, were his best men.

Cheryl wore a dreamy silk crepe gown by Romona Keveza. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline, a fluted skirt, and off-the-shoulder design. Swarovski crystals trailed down the back of the dress to the end of the train. Cheryl also wore a two-tier English tulle veil that was cathedral-length.

You just know that the dance floor at that reception was on fire! As a long-time DWTS fan, I would have loved to see that party. The couple met through DWTS, when Matthew’s brother, Joey, competed on the show. Seriously–what are they putting in the water at DWTS? The duo dated for a year before splitting in 2007. They started dating again in February of 2017. Last May, Cheryl and Matthew got engaged on her birthday.

Entertainment Tonight reported that Leah threw Cheryl a bridal shower in April. The get-together featured a rainbow cake as well as a toilet paper bride contest. Congratulations and best wishes to Cheryl and Matthew!
