Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance The Other Way contained some shocking revelations. More than one couple is faced with the reality of their situation. Contrary to popular belief, I actually feel bad for some of the cast, at times. Last night was one of those times. These people and their naive optimism bring a lot of their problems on themselves. But this time, I genuinely have compassion for one person’s self-inflicted plight.
Jihoon Lee reveals a huge secret that will impact his future with Deavan Clegg. Jenny Slatten and Summit’s relationship reaches a breaking point. Tensions flare when Laura’s son finally meets Aladin. There is a lot going on in this episode. Let’s dig in and get straight to the tea!
Deavan, 22 (Salt Lake City, Utah) & Jihoon, 29 (South Korea)
Deavan is realizing that Korea and Jihoon are not all they were cracked up to be. Jihoon would rather cuddle with his adorable dog, than help her with the baby. They are living in a micro home that is quite a change from Deavan’s previous accommodations. They can’t even fit in the same bed! Jihoon explains to Deavan how to work the “shower” and the bidet. Jihoon recommends Deavan try the bidet because his whole family’s “anal” is very clean. She is shocked that the shower is just a handheld shower head that drains into a hole in the floor. She worries about what will happen when Drusilla arrives in Korea. Ummm…where would she sleep, in a cabinet? If she did spend one night in that house it would be turned upside down. I can only imagine the havoc she would unleash in such a small space.
Jihoon takes Deavan to a fish market. She is happy to go anywhere just to get out of that overcrowded house. She has her first taste of some local delicacies that still appear to be moving on her plate. Deavan inquires about Jihoon’s finances and discovers he hasn’t saved a dime. Apparently, Jihoon is in a heap of debt. In the past, he was fined $15,000 for selling stolen phones. In an effort to repay the fee, he got a loan and the interest has kept him debt. Deavan is devastated to learn she doesn’t know everything about her one night stand/baby daddy. SMH….
Jenny, 60 (Palm Springs, California) & Sumit, 30 (India)
Jenny’s family visit is coming to an end. Her daughter has an emotional breakdown about leaving her mom with Summit. She implores Jenny to wake up and actually listen to what Summit is telling her. It is a definite possibility that Jenny could be on her way home in another couple of months. Summit has made it clear he would choose his family over her, if it came down to it. On top of that, Summit has been hiding a shocking secret, he has yet to reveal.
Summit waits until Jenny’s family leaves to tell her there will be no ring ceremony. He claims he will have to talk to his family first and he needs more time. Jenny is livid. She has given up everything for him. Summit admits he didn’t even buy a ring. Jenny only has two months left on his visa and she puts her foot down with a ultimatum. Either he marries her or she is going back to America. Summit finally reveals his big secret in a post interview. This fool is already married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So was he seeking permission from his parents or his wife? I suspected something like this but he appeared to genuinely care for Jenny. I guess once a catfish, always a catfish. Poor, Jenny. SMH… She deserves far better than a man who would do this to her. Can we all take up a collection for Jenny’s daughter and her wife to return to India to kick Summit’s a$$?
Laura, 51 (Eustis, Florida) & Aladin, 29 (Qatar)
Laura expresses her disappointment with not having consistent jiggy-jiggy. Aladin wants to follow tradition and abstain from sex until their wedding day. She then reveals she still has the vibrator she claimed she threw away. Aladin is upset that she feels she needs it and lied to him. Laura agrees to compromise and throw it away, if they can explore more sexually. In the post interview, Laura admits she lied to make Aladin happy. She has no intention of getting rid of BOB, her battery operated boyfriend.
Laura awaits her son, Liam to arrive in Qatar and finally meet Aladin. She warns him that her son is very protective. Aladin wants to make Laura comfortable, but is nervous things won’t go well. Oh, little does he know, he is right. I have a feeling Laura’s son isn’t going to be fake for his mother’s sake. Liam arrives looking like Crocodile Dundee and shares an emotional embrace with his mother. Aladin attempts to joke and talk to Liam, but he is not having it. When Aladin asks does Liam want to meet his family, Liam declines. He is either too tired or too disinterested to spend any time with anyone outside of his mother. This wedding is shaping up to be very entertaining!
Paul, 35 (Louisville, Kentucky) & Karine, 22 (Brazil)
Paul Staehle decides to go back to the hospital in hopes of witnessing the birth of his baby. Karine Staehle is in so much pain that she doesn’t have the strength to kick him out. She is in a public hospital and has no access to pain medication. You can literally feel her pain vibrating off the screen. During a shift change at the hospital, all the doctors left. Ummm…WTF kind of hospital is this! Karine is in labor and the only one in the room is Paul.
Paul is on the verge of losing his mind watching Karine in so much pain. Just in the nick of time, the doctors appear to deliver the baby. When the baby arrives Paul sees his eyes and knows it’s his son. I guess he won’t be forcing a DNA test on his wife anymore. Karine saw a different side of Paul in the hospital. She is thankful he was there to support her. Well, let’s see if she says that in a couple of weeks. I’m quite sure it’s only a matter of time before she wants a divorce again.
