90 Day Fiance

90 Day Fiance Recap: Shame On You

Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance  showed the beginning of the journey for a few couples whose significant other finally arrived in the U.S. For others, it was just the continuation of their issues while long distance. Right now, it seems like most of this cast just wants a green card. My opinion could change as the season continues, but I am seeing some huge red flags already.

Hiding a secret, Tarik Myers waits for Hazel Cagalitan to arrive from the Philippines. Brandon‘s mom presses Julia about birth control. Mike Youngquist impresses Natalie Mordovtseva on her first night in the US. Zied Hakimi calls Rebecca Parrott with unnerving news. Jovi shows Yara around New Orleans. Let’s get straight to the 90 Day Fiance recap!

Brandon, 27 (Dinwiddie, VA), and Julia, 26 (Russia)

90 Day Fiance Recap: Shame On You

Julia has finally arrived in the U.S.  When she and Brandon see one another, they have a kiss that is straight out of a lifetime movie. I guess that is a good sign. Maybe she truly likes him, if not; she is one hell of an actress. Brandon’s mother has planned a weekend in Washington and she is making sure they all stick to her itinerary. As soon as they get to the hotel, his mom announces they have 5 minutes to get ready for dinner.

Umm…. When I get off of a long flight, I don’t want to go out right away. I want to take a shower and go to sleep. At dinner, Brandon’s mother lays out the ground rules for living in her house.  They will be staying in separate rooms and she wants Julia to start taking birth control.  Julia looks to Brandon to speak up, but he just sits there silently. Sigh! Yes, I can definitely see Julia and Brandon’s mother clashing very soon.

Mike, 35 (Sequim, WA), and Natalie, 35 (Ukraine)

90 Day Fiance Recap: Shame On You

In preparation for Natalie’s arrival, Mike makes the difficult decision to ask his ranch hand and Uncle Beau to leave his home. Natalie isn’t comfortable being alone in the house with another man who is a stranger to her.  When Natalie arrives, she seems overjoyed to finally be with Mike. I wonder how long that will last. He surprises her with a beautiful room and romantic night in the city.

After all of their ups and downs, he really made an effort to make her feel special. Hopefully she felt bad for complaining about the colors of the flowers he gave her, all the way to the hotel.

Tarik, 46 (Virginia Beach, VA), and Hazel, 28 (Philippines)

90 Day Fiance Recap: Shame On You

When we last caught up Tarik and Hazel on Before the 90 Days, he had traveled to meet her in person and did everything he could to try and fit into her culture. She on the other hand didn’t seem that into him. But for some reason, Tarik still decided to propose.  After two years, Hazel is finally moving to the U.S. She plans to bring her 8 year old son, Harry as soon as she is able to do so.  Hazel is bisexual and plans to find a “hot” American girlfriend to add to their relationship. Sigh! Is Tarik crazy? This woman does not like him. He is just an opportunity for something better, in her eyes.

Tarik talks to one of his female friends about his relationship with Hazel. Apparently, when they broke up in the past, he began talking to another woman. When he got back together with Hazel, they had a threesome with his new interest. Out of nowhere, Hazel put an end to the relationship when she felt the other woman was more into him, than her. But Tarik has since reached out to his ex and will have to tell this secret to Hazel when she arrives.

Rebecca, 49 (Woodstock, GA), and Zied, 27 (Tunisia)

90 Day Fiance Recap: Shame On You

Rebecca meets with her best friend, Melanie to work out and discuss her concerns about her relationship with Zied. Melanie is a private investigator and when she did a background check, he had no work history. Zied claims that all of his jobs have been paid in cash, so they wouldn’t show up on a background check. Sorry, but that explanation seems very fishy. But Rebecca is hell bent on making things work with her fiancée, regardless if she has to take care of him until he gets a work permit. The question is, will he work once he gets it.

Rebecca is already starting off on the wrong foot. She goes to buy Zied a video game console to play while he is at home and she is at work all day. In an awkward exchange at the store, she tells the clerk that Zied is around the same age as her son. She also pays for her purchases with a credit card with his face on it. Ugh… Talk about creepy. First the pictures are on shirts, then a mug and now a credit card. Okay, just as I typed this, I realized she has a blanket on her bed with their picture on it. Girllllll…. Are you in 8th grade and this is your first boyfriend? WTF! Are there no limits to the creepiness?

Zied reveals although he thinks his interview went okay, they took his passport and told him to come back in a week. Rebecca is worried that they could be denied due to her past with other foreign men. But she is confident that their relationship is real and just wants her fiancé in the same place with her.

Jovi, 29 (New Orleans, LA), and Yara, 25 (Ukraine)

90 Day Fiance Recap: Shame On You

Jovi shows Yara their new home and she is not impressed. He did make an effort by moving to a nicer area of the city and getting a better apartment. It definitely needs a woman’s touch, but he didn’t do a bad job. Old habits die hard and Jovi definitely still is in bachelor mode. He is annoyed that after flying 30 hours, Yara just wants to stay in and go to bed. I don’t know many people who would be ready to just go party all night, after flying literally all day.

Yara wants to unpack and organize her new apartment, but Jovi would rather go out and have fun. While on Bourbon Street, she can only focus on the negative. When Jovi asks her to meet his mom and stay overnight at her house, she refuses. Ugh! If this girl is already complaining and threatening to go back to Ukraine on day one, things can only go downhill from here. I understand not wanting to stay in a stranger’s home, but it’s his mother. In all fairness, he did stay with her family and couldn’t even speak the language. She could at least oblige him at least once, especially since this will be her first time meeting her.
