Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newcomer Monica Garcia has plenty of opinions. Often she is not afraid to voice them. Since the premiere episode, Park City’s newest Housewife has been open about her involvement with Jen Shah before her guilty plea for fraud.
Monica revealed she was one of Jen’s many assistants and was once offered a spot on her shady team of “marketing” experts. During last night’s Watch What Happens Live episode, Monica dropped the bomb that Jen explained to her how the scheme worked. After turning down her chance to make millions (unethically), Monica called her Secret Services contact to get the real scoop.
Since spilling the beans about Jen and Stuart Smith’s disgusting business practices, many have wondered if Monica has feared retaliation. Her answer might come as a surprise.
Is Monica scared of Jen?
On Andy Cohen’s WWHL, comedian Heather McMahan also appeared. She asked the new reality star if she was nervous for her safety after blowing the lid off Jen’s illegal operations.
“Here’s the thing with that,” she began. “I didn’t start this case.”
“I wasn’t even a key witness; I was subpoenaed on a long list of other people.”
Monica added: “There were times [when] it was a little scary for sure … but it was the right thing to do. Everyone calls me a rat and whatever. Squeak squeak.”
Jen was arrested in 2021 for money laundering and fraud charges. “Jennifer Shah, who portrays herself as a wealthy and successful businessperson on ‘reality’ television, and Stuart Smith, who is portrayed as Shah’s ‘first assistant,’ allegedly generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam,” Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said in a statement.
Since then, Jen has been sentenced to six-and-a-half years in federal prison.
