Every Real Housewife needs a sustainable side hustle, should their time on reality TV come to an end. Many have launched beauty products, produced clothing lines, or taken acting classes.
As for Candiace Dillard Bassett, the Real Housewives of Potomac star has taken the music route. She wouldn’t be the first Housewife to do so, but she has seen some success in the field. Reportedly, Candiace reached number 24 on the Billboard R&B Charts, and number 4 on iTunes.
Still, the star has received her fair share of criticism. When the RHOP taglines came out featuring Candiace singing part of hers, viewers were ruthless. But Candiace has kept at it, recently releasing a music video for the song Fine Whine to reignite her first album.
Candiace’s “Fine Whine” video inspires fans
On November 9, Candiace released a music video to accompany her latest single. The music video served to help reinvigorate the single’s re-release. The video saw Candiace preparing for and performing a live show while also performing in a studio. The preparation included hair and makeup as well as dance rehearsal.
The music video received a lot of support on YouTube, with fans flooding the comments to express their joy at Candiace’s success. One commenter wrote, “I’m literally in tears my girl is doing her thing say what you want about her she is talented as hell.” Another fan said, “Such [an] inspiration seeing Candace from her first season to now!”
Indeed, Candiace has achieved a great deal with her music career. However, there have been and still will be plenty of detractors. As Decider reported in 2021, Nicki Minaj was skeptical as to how many albums Candiace had truly sold, with one album sale counting only when a person downloads every song from the album. Still, Candiace seems to be doing well for herself.
