Rumors, Real Housewives, and the theater? Sign me up! Four Housewives from the famous Bravo franchise have come together for an exciting new project. They’ve lent their talent to an exciting new take on Neil Simon’s classic show Rumors, and they’re doing it in a way that only the Housewives can.

The ladies involved in the project include Eileen Davidson, a fan favorite formerly of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the talented Eva Marcille from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, controversial Jessel Taank from the reboot cast of The Real Housewives of New York, and last but not least, Candiace Dillard Bassett of The Real Housewives of Potomac.
Investor Sean Nyberg shared that the ladies came together to do an early reading of Rumors. The production is led by producer George Strus and visionary director Zhailon Levingston. The brand new concept sees the classic Simon play told through the lens of The Real Housewives, with the action taking place during the filming of a Real Housewives season finale.
It’s definitely a unique twist, and no one does rumors, drama, and tension-filled finales quite like the Housewives. In the original show, the story is told from the point of view of well-to-do couples invited to the 10th anniversary party of the deputy mayor of New York. Rumors abound when they discover the mayor has been shot.
It’s a classic farce, with speculation and drama running rampant, and honestly, I’d kill to see the Housewives version of this. Eileen took to social media to share how inspired she was by the experience and how much she enjoyed it. “Every single one of these people is incredibly talented and full of creative energy and passion and fun,” she wrote. “I’m going to be thinking about this last week for a long, long time.”
Sean shared that the readings were phenomenal. He believes the concept is truly brilliant and should be explored further. Here’s hoping it ends up on the stage!
