Below Deck Med Preview: Max Tells Captain Sandy He Might Quit

The Mystique’s charters on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8 has been one of the most tumultuous voyages the show has ever seen. However, it’s made quite the viewing experience.

Season 8’s crew has already been stretched thin with Ruan Irving’s early departure. Of course, Captain Sandy Yawn had no choice but to let him go after it came out that his credentials were allegedly stolen.

Now, the crew might be in an even worse position as Max Salvador suggested to Luka Brunton that he might leave after the boat’s next charter. Based on a new preview that Bravo put out, it would appear he won’t back down from that decision.

Kyle tells Sandy his focus is “making myself”

Bravo released a tease of the upcoming Below Deck Med episode, showing the crew preparing for the next charter. Max came out to the deck where Captain Sandy wished him a good morning and asked if he was doing all right. He did a few fake flexes in response, and Sandy said, “You’re funny Max. I’m glad you’re here.”

“I’m happy to hear that,” Max responded. “’Cause maybe I wanted to, uh, to speak to you about, ah, about this. I was thinking, like, joining this boat … I see a super crew, I see the money we make. And I’m still, like, not making myself. So, now, it’s just clear for me that I might, uh, going to leave.”

Captain Sandy initially responded, “What?” Max maintained total nonchalance and Sandy asked, “You’re going to leave? No.” The preview ended there. Sandy’s concern reflected Luka’s same worry when Max told the bosun he might leave the boat earlier than anticipated. With another man down, who knows how the charter would get along?

Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
