Luke Brumer is making all kinds of mistakes this season on Below Deck Mediterranean. And since many of his mistakes are personal, not professional, viewers are already designating him as one of the worst villains yet on this series. That is, to be blunt, saying a lot.

This franchise is massive. As a result, many bad yachties have graced our screens since its premiere on Bravo in 2013. But the mistakes Luke has made in recent episodes include some absolutely nasty choices and reactions. And for that, viewers are quickly tapping out on Luke.

So are some of his co-stars. But is Luke truly one of the biggest villains to date in this nautical franchise? Well, let’s take a look at everything that has happened so far in Season 11.

Luke is 35 years old. So, he should know better, generally speaking. Yet, Luke is making several choices that fail to reflect his big age on Below Deck Med. And because of his choices, Nathan Gallagher has already suggested that Luke might soon be fired from Season 11.

His mistakes have ranged from a hygienic hellscape storyline that festered for THREE long days, to a maddening scene where he tried to flip the script on two different yachties for their reactions to his antics. So now, fans have officially labeled Luke as a villain on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11.

Nathan had a rough start to Season 11. But in recent episodes, it’s almost like Luke said, “Hold my beer.” After Luke entertained a night, followed by a morning, with Gen Lillie, his actions far surpassed those of Nathans. And to think, early on, Nathan was even considering Luke for the lead deckhand position.

When Luke first came aboard, Joy Lefaucheur caught his eye. But Joy does not suffer fools lightly. So as soon as she saw Luke spending time with Gen in Episode 4, Joy walked away, telling him he clearly needs “to taste the grass” first.

And taste the grass, Luke surely did (sorry, things get even grosser from here). Luke and Gen spent that same night together in his bunk. After she “put it in,” Gen rolled down to the bed below to sleep. And in the morning, Luke joined her.

Here, Luke “came on [his] boss’s sheets.” Now, the smart thing to do would have been to immediately clean these sheets, or at least swap them with his own until he found the chance to run a load of laundry. Instead, Luke let Nathan sleep on crusty sheets for three days. Nathan ultimately got sick, and in Episode 6, he finally learned why.

Understandably, Nathan is now ticked off at Luke.

Gen is mad at Luke, too. Luke made her promise to keep their night together a secret. So, in Episode 6, Nathan and Aesha Scott helped Luke score a seat next to Joy at dinner. Since Gen did as Luke asked, these two had no idea that Luke had already been intimate with someone else this season.

Realizing that Luke was already discarding her, Gen pulled Aesha aside. It looked like Aesha was “plotting against” her, Gen said. Then, Gen told Aesha that she and Luke had “f*cked,” and Aesha immediately apologized. Gen pulled Luke aside next, and during their chat, he admitted that he actually liked Joy, not her.

Joy, however, was under the impression that Gen and Luke had just kissed. So, wanting Joy to know everything, Gen told Luke that she was going to break her silence pact regarding their night together. Joy absolutely should know everything before engaging in a boatmance with Luke. But even still, Luke got mad at Gen and asked, “Is that a threat?”

Crying, Gen answered “no.” Then, Luke, a man 12 years her senior, asked her to be “a mature adult.” He proceeded to gaslight Gen, hoping she would fold so that he could move on peacefully with an unknowing Joy.

Luke has proven he cannot handle being called out

Everyone knew about the whole sheets storyline, minus Nathan. But shortly after Joe Bradley learned about this mess, he thankfully stepped up to deliver the news to his boss. As Joe explained to the cameras, a hygienic issue was now at play. And not only was this situation nasty and extremely unprofessional, but it also posed a safety risk for the crew, which Captain Sandy Yawn would never stand for.

Just as he did with Gen, however, Luke threw the blame right back at Joe. He angrily confronted Joe for throwing him under the bus. According to Luke, Joe violated his trust and the “bro code.” But as Joe explained, this was a “health issue” that Nathan needed to be made aware of.

Online, Luke is continuing to double down on his excuses. On Reddit, one of his comments is currently making the rounds. “Just remember,” Luke began, “you only see what gets shown to you.”

Regarding his discarded droplets, Luke asked, “Do you really think there’d be a massive blurred-out puddle on the bed? Come now, people.” As of yet, no one on Reddit is siding with Luke. Instead, they are all joking, “Cum now,” Luke, “is there really an acceptable level of semen on someone else’s bedsheets?”

Luke needs to stop finding ways to argue against his own failings. And if he can’t, he might just emerge as one of the biggest villains yet in this franchise.

Below Deck Mediterranean continues Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
