Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown has effectively become a monogamist. First Christine Brown decided she’d had enough of Kody. Not long after, Janelle Brown reached the same conclusion and followed her out the door. Finally, Meri Brown called it quits, after struggling to make her marriage work for years.
Christine wasted no time in making a new life for herself. She’s already re-married and is enjoying being her new husband David Woolley’s one-and-only. And Janelle is living the single life, no longer restrained by her cantankerous ex.
But what about Robyn and Kody? ET sat down with Christine and Janelle, who not only remain good friends but still consider themselves sister wives. She asked the pair if they think their ex and his only remaining wife will last as a monogamous couple.
Will Kody and Robyn last?
“They’re equally matched and equally yolked,” Christine responded. “They deserve each other. Did that sound bad? Did that sound snarky?”
“I want them to have the best life possible,” she added. “They found each other and I know what it feels like to find your person. I know what I have with David, and now I can understand what they have with each other. And I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah, please have a good life.'”
Though there’s been some speculation on whether Kody will add another wife down the road, neither Christine nor Janelle sees that happening.
“No, because then he’d have to tell the other woman, ‘You know, you’re probably great but I really love Robyn, so I don’t know what you’re gonna do with your life,'” Christine laughs. “I think [Robyn]’s gonna be it. Why would they look for something else if they’ve found each other?”
“I just don’t know if Kody’s really interested,” Janelle agrees. “It’s a lot of work for a husband, and I just don’t know if he really wants to do that. He really does love Robyn, and it’s great to watch them. It’s great.”
Do they see a friendship with Robyn?
Though Christine and Janelle plan to remain in each other’s lives forever, neither of them ever had a strong relationship with Robyn. They blame Kody’s obvious favoritism for his fourth wife for the dissolution of their marriages. They also hold Robyn responsible for the estrangement from their father of so many of Kody’s 18 children.
For her part, Christine has no interest in being friends with Robyn. But Kody is the father of Christine’s six children, and they still have one minor child together: Truely. No, that’s not a typo. Christine will keep things cordial for her sake, but only on a surface level.
“I’m just going to have people in my life that I trust,” Christine says.
Janelle agrees, adding, “I really didn’t ever have much of a relationship with her. We just never gelled … [But] if paths cross, we’re going to be friendly and cordial.”
“Because we have children together we will be in each other’s spaces,” Christine continues. “They don’t need to know what’s in my heart and what’s in my soul. They don’t get to have that part of me anymore.”
