Below Deck Med’s Kyle Viljoen Says He and Natalya Scudder Are ‘Friends Again’

Below Deck Mediterranean, viewers can rest easy in the assurance that stews Natalya Scudder and Kyle Viljoen have ended their conflict. The unfortunate events of Season 8 that led to the temporary pause of their friendship are water under the bridge. And the two stews are announcing their newfound feelings of goodwill towards each other.

After a particularly nasty fight that occurred on camera during Season 8, Natalya chose to leave the boat. Captain Sandy Yawn kept Kyle around but questioned his bullying tactics and gave him one final shot to change his ways. Perhaps that got him thinking, but in real time it’s been a year since filming. What really changed between the pair?

Both friends have been “through the thick of it”

As if to coincide with the release of the mid-season trailer, Kyle went public on Instagram to reveal a series of pictures of himself chumming around with Natalya. In the caption, he assured his followers that they have made amends in their friendship.

“It has been a year in the making but time heals most wounds however, we’re just glad to being back as friends again,” he wrote.

Kyle recognized the timing was bad while filming, and both parties had issues in their personal lives. Most notably, Natalya was forced into an “open relationship” that she neither felt comfortable in nor had the same freedom as her partner.

“We both realized we were going through the thick of it at the time the season started a year ago, especially within our personal lives but were so glad that we have each other to rely on, now more than ever,” Kyle continued.

It seems the two will be spending the holiday time together. The South African native continued, “We’re happy to be back together and hopeful that the positive, crazy and outrageously great times are ahead. An early kick start to the new year with new memories.”

Finally, the reality TV star thanked his followers for their words of support. Kyle also has been dealing with serious medical issues and was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.

“Thank you for being through it all with Us and the caring messages. So much love to you! Nat & Kyle,” he concluded the post.
