2023 has been a rough year for Kyle Richards with all the drama surrounding her and Mauricio Umansky. However, when compared to other Bravo couples whose marriages are struggling, Kyle and Mauricio have managed to keep things pretty tame for the most part.
That doesn’t mean the situation has been entirely stress-free – far from it. Rumors pop up seemingly every week about the past and status of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars.
Regardless, Kyle and Mauricio have managed to pull off the impossible. They’ve maintained a safe home environment for their children (and we all know a couple of other stars who could take some notes). So, how have they managed to do it?
Kyle and Mauricio prioritize their friendship
Kyle spoke with E! News about the innerworkings of her relationship with Mauricio, particularly, how they manage to keep it together for their kids. “Like with most relationships, first and foremost we’re friends,” Kyle shared. “Our relationship, any issues we had … was never fighting. Disagreeing about things was not our issue ever.”
Even with all the difficulties around their current status, Kyle believes fighting isn’t on the table. “We know that we are both struggling. So, we’re just trying to do it with as much compassion as possible and trying to keep things as normal as possible because three of our four daughters still live at home while we go to therapy and try to work through things.”
As for Kyle’s hopes for the new year, she said, “This sounds cliché, but I really just want peace, I really do. This has been a really rough year going through so many difficult things in my personal life and so much scrutiny.” Until the new year begins, Kyle can look forward to Christmas with Mauricio and the kids.
