Dorit Kemsley thought she and PK Kemsley were communicating well enough, even amid their sometimes contentious divorce, to keep each other informed about major life updates. That’s why she was surprised to learn about his new girlfriend the same way fans did.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently revealed that PK never told her he was dating someone new before the relationship became public.
The RHOBH star claims she found out with “the rest of the world”
PK went public with girlfriend Tatiana Kharchylava in April. But according to Dorit, the news didn’t come from him.
Dorit told Daily Mail, “It’s very new. I learned about this girlfriend when the rest of the world did, even though he and I were communicating. And there was no reason for him, you know, not to tell me.”
Dorit said she and PK were still in contact at the time, which made the situation even more surprising. She also suggested that the ongoing divorce may have played a role in how everything unfolded.
“But I think sometimes, certain people, when you’re in an acrimonious divorce, they enjoy the element of blindsiding or… you know, to be honest with you, I want him to be happy. And if they’re both happy, that’s wonderful.”
Even so, Dorit said she has no issue with Tatiana. The RHOBH star has not met her yet, but she sounds open to the idea. Tatiana reportedly met PK through his longtime friend Boy George.
“If she’s lovely and I expect that she is, I hope, I mean I look forward to meeting her. [I’d] be happy to meet her.”
The conversation also turned to the couple’s children, Jagger, 12, and Phoenix, 10. Dorit said she hopes both parents stay mindful about introducing future partners into their lives.
“I hope that PK would respect the fact that our children are still a bit young and impressionable and vulnerable. And I think we both have a duty and a responsibility to make sure that we maintain their stability and we’re very aware of their emotional mental health, just [so we can] make sure that we can minimize any type of damage.”
She added, “So I think if we both have that and focus, then we’ll make the right decisions with regards to partners bringing them into the kids’ lives.”
While the divorce remains ongoing, Dorit said she still hopes they can eventually find their way back to a healthier relationship as co-parents.
“My hope is that we can both put everything else to the side and make the kids a priority. And I keep telling him, “We don’t need to be enemies. There’s no reason.” And I think if we loved each other very much and we were great friends, I would love to see us back in that place.”
