Emily Simpson Explains What She ‘Hates’ About Real Housewives Fans

Every fandom has its fair share of toxic members. It’s no secret that reality TV fans can get way out of line. Of course, sometimes the drama on-screen encourages fans to take things too far.

That said, the majority of viewers know how to keep a reasonable mindset, no matter what unfolds behind the cameras. Still, Bravolebrities don’t always take criticism very well.

Putting one’s self on a platform and inviting criticism is difficult, sure, and many Bravo stars know what to expect. Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson, for example, has decided to write off one general criticism entirely.

Emily and Tamra have thoughts on stirring the pot, and what Real Housewives fans should make of it

On the January 5 episode of Two Ts In A Pod, Emily and Tamra Judge were discussing a recent Real Housewives of Miami episode. The conversation moved toward Adriana de Moura and her tendency to stir the pot. The mention of Adriana prompted Emily to say, “I hate it when the fans get pissed out Housewives for being sh*t-stirrers.”

Emily continued, “It’s like, do you want us all to just sit around and, like, hold hands and sing kumbaya? You’ll be pissed if that’s what’s going on.” Tamra added, “Well, you know what’s crazy is just thinking, like, [Adriana’s] not even a Housewife, she’s a friend.” Admittedly, the Miami friends feature almost as much as the full-time Housewives.

While Emily might think she has a point, most Housewives fans would probably agree that pot-stirring alone is not the issue. What frustrates fans is artificial pot-stirring or, for that matter, unwarranted pot-stirring. Adriana can take things off the rails but at least she’s not doing it to manufacture a storyline.

She believes her actions are warranted, and sometimes, they absolutely are given her co-stars’ conduct. Compare that to Tamra who’s often the poster child for manufactured or unwarranted drama. She routinely invents problems (as accused of doing by her co-stars) or takes things way too far and way too fast.

Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 enters production soon, while Real Housewives of Miami continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
