Lisa Barlow Discusses Meredith Marks’ History With ‘Five’ Different Accents

Meredith Marks has contributed numerous sound bites to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City over the years. Some of the more notable ones include “I’m disengaging,” and “Yooooou can leave!” Both courtesy of a very passionate, if perhaps a bit intoxicated, RHOSLC original star.

On Season 4, the boutique store owner entertained viewers with a series of accents, each more hilarious than the previous. Meredith fired off the impersonations during a particularly engaging argument with RHOSLC newbie Angie Katsanevas.

Fans were left in stitches over Meredith’s varying inflections of tone and accent. And the question remains, was it just for the show? Or has Meredith perfected her act over the years.

“That is her,” Lisa said of Meredith’s speech patterns

Meredith’s former bestie, Lisa Barlow, answered that question during a recent interview with People.

The conversation went down the comedic route when Lisa recalled appearing with Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

“Meredith can do like, five,” she said of Meredith’s skills at inflection and intonation. “She’s always had those accents though. That is not new for the show. That is the consummate with knowing Meredith as long as I have, that is her.”

It’s good to know that the jewelry designer’s accents are not an act for cameras. Meredith has been applauded for the genuine manner in which she conducts herself for the hit reality TV show.

Lisa also commented on her own voice, which some viewers have labeled as “deep.”

“It’s so funny because I sound like all four of my sisters. If you were on a phone call with us, you wouldn’t be able to tell us apart. And I think we’re so used to our voice, but then in our intonations with our voice and how we say things I don’t think are regular, normal,” she explained. “So it’s funny how people pick up on the influxes and how we have a deep voice.”

“It’s so funny to me, but I didn’t think it was going to be a thing,” Lisa continued. “I always was like, ‘Oh, I have a good voice.’ And then I’m like, maybe everyone’s hearing it differently or I’m hearing it differently.”

Expect the ladies and their voices to be back for Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
