Kyle Cooke Defends Mexico Vacation After Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s Canceled Wedding

Even though Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke called off their destination wedding in Mexico last November, several of their Bravo buddies still chose to keep their hotel reservations.

Many of the former couple’s friends had made plans to be there, so even though there was no wedding happening, they still decided to go.

“Carl worked with the venue and gave everybody the opportunity to get their money back,” says Summer House star Kyle Cooke. “But there [were] enough people that had taken time off of work, set those dates aside, and were looking forward to it.” Why not just go on with the party?

“When the critical mass started to approach like 30 friends,” adds Kyle, “I mean we’re just like, ‘This is going to be a great time. It’s an adult-only resort. All inclusive. Why not??’”

When Lindsay and Carl announced the cancelation in September, Kyle tells People, all of their friends started texting each other. “Should we still go?” they wondered. And it’s not like it hasn’t happened before.

“I know of friends [who called off their weddings],” Kyle explains, “and people did just that. They still went. If … people are already taking time off from work or [paying for] plane tickets, hopefully, it’s not looked at as disrespectful. It turned a wedding vacation into [just] a vacation.”

During the weekend, Kyle and Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay posted Instagram photos which included Carl’s mom, Sharon Radke (with Scheana above), and his stepfather, Lou. On the October 6 episode of her podcast, Scheananigans, the Good as Gold singer told Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo that she was still planning to go to Cancún.

“I’m still going,” she said. “We didn’t take a honeymoon, and when we got the email saying, ‘If you all still want to go, go,’ I texted Kyle and [his wife Amanda Batula], and they’re like, ‘We’re still going.'” Scheana may not have taken a honeymoon, but didn’t her wedding last, like, a week in Mexico? I’d count that as a wedding/honeymoon rolled into one. Don’t give us your sob story, Scheana.

Carl and Lindsay got engaged on the Season 7 Finale of Summer House in August 2022. Ironically, Carl called it off in September 2023 on the Season 8 Finale.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK IT WAS OKAY TO GO AHEAD WITH THE TRIP TO MEXICO DESPITE THE CANCELATION OF THE WEDDING? WOULD YOU HAVE DONE THE SAME THING?
