Candiace Dillard Bassett Thinks Beyoncé Is Taking Style Inspiration From Karen Huger

Candiace Dillard Bassett believes Beyoncé could be taking fashion advice from The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Grande Dame, Karen Huger

“OK, so Beyoncé, if you’re watching, we’re not mad if you were channeling Karen Huger,” Candiace told Page Six recently. “I want you to know that when I saw you at the Grammys sitting in your Louis Vuitton Western frock — it was very cute — I saw Karen Huger,” Candiace said, addressing Queen Bey directly while noting her platinum blonde hair which is similar to Karen’s hairstyle.

Since the Grammy’s weekend, Beyoncé has been sporting different country and western-inspired looks, including cowboy hats, in preparation for her new country album set to release on March 29. Her lead single, Texas Hold ‘Em, recently went No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Is Beyoncé a Real Housewives fan?

Regarding Beyoncé’s Grammy look, Candiace said she “loved it,” while referring to the outfit as “platinum Karen.”

“Beyoncé, if you’re watching Housewives … Do you remember my first season?” she said. “Season 3, we were in France, and Ashley referred to Karen as a ‘broke Tina Knowles.'”

The Drive Back singer continued, “So I feel like that was maybe the introduction to the Knowles-Carter family. Maybe Beyoncé, like, her ears perked up then.”

The reality star noted Beyoncé’s line in her 2016 single Formation, “I twirl on them haters,” pointing out Kenya Moore’s memorable Real Housewives of Atlanta chant, “Twirl!”

Bey also seemingly gave Kenya another shoutout after her 2013 Super Bowl performance. When the press caught up with her, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams backstage to ask about her performance, the 32x Grammy Award-winning performer said it was “Gone with the Wind fabulous.”

The Real Housewives of Potomac continues on Bravo, Sundays at 8/7c.
