Brock Seems Dismissive of Scheana’s OCD, and It’s a Problem

Since the birth of her daughter, Scheana Shay has been battling postpartum OCD every day. The Vanderpump Rules star is finding it hard to enjoy her time as a first-time mother, even though she is making the best of it by trying her best and finding the treatment that works for you. Season 11 shows Scheana still inserting herself into Scandoval, all while battling her urges. But not everyone is giving her the support she deserves, and this is a problem, especially when the pushback is coming from her husband, Brock Davies.

The dynamic duo was married in April 2022 and, for the most part, seemed to have an inseparable bond. Brock struck Vanderpump Rules fans as a sponge when they were first introduced to the Australian native, but he grew over time, showing that he really loved Scheana. But Brock had a long way to go to win over fans who weren’t happy that he was a deadbeat father who didn’t pay child support to his children back in Australia.

However, Scheana kept trudging along with her new man, and eventually, fans could also see the good in him. Brock has integrated himself back into the group thanks to his friendship with Lala Kent and his love for his daughter Summer Moon. But recent episodes have us worried for Scheana since her partner in crime seems to be losing his cool.

Does Brock Understand Scheana’s Mental Health Struggles?

Marriage is all fun and games until somebody starts having severe health issues; then, it can start to get complicated. This is what fans have been noticing on Season 11 as Scheana has been opening up more and more about her struggle with postpartum OCD. The latest episode showed Scheana and Brock having a much-needed date night, but only after they were able to find two babysitters to leave Summer Moon with. One episode showed Scheana telling cameras that she hoped her “OCD brain could take a nap tonight.”

It turns out Brock was also hoping for Scheana to snag a nap as he invalidated her worries. Brock tried to be funny, I think. Honestly, he shouldn’t quit the day job as he told the babysitter that she was there because of his wife’s “inability to let things go.” Yikes – I wouldn’t have wanted to be Brock at that moment.

Brock Is Frustrated

Brock is clearly fed up with the arrangement. But his dismissive behavior is extremely troubling. And even though we can’t be sure how he acts behind closed doors, his words have upset Scheana. Brock has shared that he “misses his wife and the way she used to be. Before we had Summer, we were this juggernaut of getting things done.” It seems for Brock, a lot has changed too, but it doesn’t mean he can mock his wife’s struggles.

Brock isn’t a fan of Scheana’s thought process, which includes a lot of what-if thinking and catastrophizing. But to that, I say this: Brock wasn’t the one who had the baby. He doesn’t have to worry about his hormones changing in his body. What he needs to do is sit down, shut up, and help his wife get through this very hard time in her life instead of making her feel even worse about herself.

Fans’ Reactions

It turns out Vanderpump Rules viewers aren’t that shocked by Brock’s behavior since he has done these kinds of things before. One follower wrote via Reddit, “Brock is absolutely being unsupportive, and it’s not at all surprising. This is the same man who went golfing after Scheana had her miscarriage and told Lala to “do better” when she couldn’t be there for Scheana that day. So I expect nothing less from him, really.”

Another riled-up viewer shared, “This was gross and hard to watch, and Brock sucks. His concern in his talking head was about ‘getting stuff done’ and not about his wife’s health. He is minimizing and dismissing the seemingly very real struggles she is having, working on, and being vulnerable about. Saying, ‘why are you so triggered’ when she’s trying to clarify her feelings was awful. Like, for god’s sake, man, even the damn cat has empathy for her.”

Frankly, Scheana is doing everything she possibly can and everything she should, and he needs to step it up big time.
