Trigger Warning: This article discusses the topics of suicide and self-harm.

There has been some sad news out of the Sister Wives camp, as viewers recently learned that Garrison Brown has passed away at the age of 25. TLC followers knew Garrison as one of Kody Brown’s 18 children who decided to make a career out of the military. Originally, Garrison wanted to join the Army but settled on the Nevada National Guard as a compromise with his father, who wanted him to go to school first. Garrison, who is Kody’s seventh child, also had a creative side as he took up photography as a passion. The son of Janelle Brown even owned his own clothing company at one point.

How Did Garrison Die?

TMZ first reported that Garrison had died via a self-inflicted gunshot wound while inside his home in Arizona. According to the outlet, police officers “responded to Garrison’s home Tuesday morning on a report of a death, and when they arrived — they discovered him dead at the scene.”

According to the report, the Flagstaff Police Department shared that Gabriel Brown, Garrison’s brother, arrived at the home and found his sibling. We have yet to learn if there was a note left behind, but an investigation is underway.

Kody & Janelle Brown Respond

Kody and Janelle both released the same statement via their social media accounts about the passing of their son, which read, “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

Only yesterday, Janelle was posting about her recent scare with skin cancer, so it stands to reason Garrison’s death came as a shock.

Kody had not been on good terms with his son. Their feud began in 2021, during the second year of the worldwide pandemic. Garrison and Gabriel refused to abide by their father’s strict COVID-19 rules. Garrison wanted to continue to be social, and instead of hashing their issues out, Kody blamed both his sons for putting him in a tough spot with the rest of the polygamous family. Kody went as far as to claim that it was his son’s fault that his marriage to Janelle had taken such a nosedive.

The Brown Siblings Respond

Gwen Brown, the daughter of Kody and Christine Brown, took to her Patreon only an hour after the news of her brother’s death to say, “I won’t be posting anymore. TBD if I decide to come back but feel free to watch my older stuff. Billing is going to unpause soon also, so, if you don’t want to be charged, run while you can.” Savanah Brown, Paedon Brown, Madison Brown, and Mykelti Brown only reposted the same story their father shared, which was a picture of Garrison in uniform.

The Wives Respond

As of now, Meri Brown is the only Sister Wives’ spouse to post a message about Garrison. Presumably, Robyn Brown is comforting Kody while Christine is rushing to her best friend’s side in her time of need. Kody’s first wife posted photos of Garrison, which showed him during happier times. Meri was a big part of the older children’s lives since they grew up with her, still very much a part of the family.

Meri shared a statement along the same lines as Kody, writing, “Our family is deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy, Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. This loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, and it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy during this time and join us in honoring his memory. Garrison, you are loved and will be missed! ??”

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Sister Wives family through this very trying time.
