A Definitive Ranking of Every Love Is Blind Breakup

Love Is Blind-Season 1
YouTube/StillWatchingNetflix

The Netflix show Love Is Blind celebrated four years on the air this year with the release of its 6th season. The reality show has spawned a surprising number of success stories, with 8 of the 10 couples who said “I do” still married. But not every couple made it out alive. While some cast members found love sight unseen, others proved the pod experiment isn’t foolproof. There have been many breakups in the last few seasons. Some of them are heartbreaking, others downright funny. If you need a refresher, I have you covered.

Here is every Love Is Blind breakup ranked from least memorable to most memorable:

For this list, I will only be considering couples who got engaged and broke up on the show

Brittany & Kenneth (Season 6)

Kenneth Gorham proposed to Brittany Mills in the pods after they bonded over shared goals and religious values. The two started strong but over time, it became clear they weren’t compatible. They broke up after Brittany came clean about not feeling desire in the relationship. The split was amicable. They even hugged it out.

Kelly & Kenny (Season 1)

Kelly Chase said “I do not” to Kenny Barnes on their wedding day. The couple didn’t appear to have any deep-rooted issues but they also didn’t seem madly in love. They were just two nice people who weren’t meant to be together. Fair! The breakup was respectful and neither party seemed devastated by the split.

Mallory & Sal (Season 2)

Similar to the previous couples mentioned on this list, Mallory Zapata and Salvador “Sal” Perez suffered from a lack of chemistry. They didn’t have a toxic relationship. They just weren’t each other’s person and that’s okay. Sal said no to Mallory on their wedding day and later admitted she was also on the fence. The breakup was cordial and they seemed to leave with mutual respect.

Jessica & Mark (Season 1)

Jessica Batten and Mark Cuevas’ relationship was memorable but their breakup was not. Mostly because everyone saw it coming. There was no way Jessica was going to say yes. I’m honestly shocked they made it to their wedding day.

Shaina Hurley & Kyle Abrams (Season 2)

Shaina Hurley and Kyle Abrams split before their wedding. The chemistry was off and they couldn’t agree about religious values. Kyle pushed back a little on the breakup but overall, it was pretty calm and not dramatic.

Raven & SK (Season 3)

Fans were surprised when SK Alagbada said no to Raven Ross on their wedding day. The couple had some logistical issues to sort out, mainly where they were going to live, but fans were hopeful they would leave the show as husband and wife. The breakup was emotional and our hearts broke for Raven as she ran out of the venue in tears. However, SK communicated his reservations well and the two continued to date after the show ended. However, they later broke up again after rumors that SK cheated surfaced on TikTok. In an interview with People, SK denied physically cheating on Raven but admitted to exchanging “inappropriate” messages with another woman.

Natalie & Shayne (Season 2)

Shayne Jansen was shocked when Natalie Lee turned him down on their wedding day. Shayne swiftly left the venue and Natalie chased after him to explain why she said no. She revealed that an off-camera conversation changed her mind about saying yes. According to Natalie, Shayne lashed out at her before the wedding, saying he hated her and that she was the worst thing that ever happened to him. Yikes.

Stacy & Izzy (Season 5)

Izzy Zapata thought he was leaving Love Is Blind a married man but Stacy Snyder had other ideas. The blonde beauty said “no” at the altar in a shocking twist. Before the wedding, Izzy confessed to having some credit card debt, which concerned Stacy. The breakup was emotional, especially since the two appeared to be really in love.

AD & Clay (Season 6)

AD Smith was ready to become Clay Gravesande’s bride but he wasn’t quite ready. The Entrepreneur said “I do not” on their wedding day, citing financial concerns as the primary reason. AD was heartbroken and it was hard to watch. Clay has been open about wanting to repair the relationship but she appears to have her guard up.

Chelsea and Jimmy (Season 6)

I was addicted to watching Jimmy Presnell and Chelsea Blackwell‘s relationship in Season 6. The two connected in the pods but once they met in person, it was clear something was not right. Chelsea let her insecurities get the best of her and Jimmy didn’t know how to love her the way she needed him to. Their breakup was expected but it was still memorable because watching these two communicate will never not be mesmerizing.

Micah & Paul (Season 4)

Micah Lussier pulled the ultimate boss move when she made Paul Peden answer first on their wedding day. Honestly, I respect it. Paul ended up saying no and Micah got to keep her pride.

Jackie and Marshall (Season 4)

This one was rough. Jackie Bonds’ broke things off with Marshall Glaze after she met up with her ex-pod buddy. Josh Demas. Jackie told Marshall she couldn’t love him because she was attracted to Josh. Brutal. Marshall was understandably upset and Jackie couldn’t give him the closure he needed. It was tough to watch.

Carlton & Diamond (Season 1)

Carlton Morton and Diamond Jack broke up during the couple’s retreat in Season 1. Their breakup was volatile and next-level iconic.

Diamond was upset that Carlton didn’t say he was bisexual sooner in their relationship. He got defensive and they started fighting. Between Carlton yelling, “F*** a ring,” and Diamond quoting Beyonce, this one sure was memorable.

Taylor Rue & Jared “JP” Pierce (Season 5)

Taylor Rue and Jared “JP” Pierce called it quits during the couple’s retreat. The two started having communication issues right after the pod phase but it came to a head when JP revealed he had an issue with Taylor wearing makeup. I think every woman felt rage watching JP try and dictate what Taylor does with her own body. Sigh.

Zach & Irina (Season 4)

Irina Solomonova and Zack Goytowski’s relationship was painful to watch from start to finish but it was certainly memorable. They finally decided to call it quits towards the end of the couple’s retreat, which was long overdue. The two were pretty much enemies by the end and watching them share their raw, unfiltered opinion of each other in the bathroom after their breakup was one of the funniest moments on the show.

Nancy & Bartise (Season 3)

Bartise Bowden felt the wrath of Nancy Rodriguez’s entire family after he rejected her at the altar. Nancy’s mom and brother went in on Bartise, letting him know he missed out on a great girl. I was here for it. It was giving drama. It was giving play.

Damien & Giannina (Season 1)

Giannina Gibelli gave us all the drama we were looking for after Damian Powers said no to her on their wedding day. She fled the scene, fell in the grass, and said she wanted to punch him in the face. I couldn’t write a more dramatic breakup. Chef’s kiss!

Laura & Jeremy (Season 6)

Laura Dadisman and Jeramey Lutinski broke up after she found out he was dishonest about his whereabouts during a night out. She tracked his location and found out he was at his “pod-ex” Sarah Ann Bick’s house in the early hours of the morning. Laura was not loving the dishonestly and the two had a messy breakup. It was peek TV! Who doesn’t love a good love triangle?

Zanab & Cole (Seaon 3)

Zanab Jaffrey and her fiance Cole Barnett made it to their wedding day but it wasn’t an easy journey. The couple was always at each other’s throats, so it wasn’t a huge shock that they didn’t leave hand-in-hand. However, Zanab’s breakup speech had our jaws on the floor. She let him have it. She called him out for “disrespecting her” and “shattering her self-confidence.” Cole was a jerk at times but he probably didn’t deserve to get read to filth in front of his friends and family.

Deepti & Shake (Season 2)

Fans applauded when Deepti Vempati let Shake Chatterjee know she deserved better than him on their wedding day. Shake made numerous disrespectful comments about her all season and fans were praying she would leave him in the end. In the finale, she told Shake she was choosing herself and walked away with her head held high. This is my favorite Love Is Blind breakup. You go, Deepti!
