Below Deck Med Drama: Aesha Scott Not Impressed by Bosun Iain Maclean

Below Deck Mediterranean fans received quite a pleasant surprise when Aesha Scott made her way to the franchise. On the other hand, Iain Maclean may have found her presence as more of a curse than a blessing.

Below Deck Med needed some fresh wind in its sails after Season 8’s poor reception. As a tried-and-true chief stew and fan favorite, Aesha became the thrust of that new wind. But as with any season of Below Deck, crew members are bound to butt heads. And Aesha found herself at odds with the ship’s bosun.

Aesha criticizes Iain for taking a “free pass”

On June 21, Bravo released a preview for the most upcoming Below Deck Med episode. In the clip, Captain Sandy Yawn discussed with her crew an Olympic-games-themed beach picnic party for the guests. She told Iain, “You know, the bosun obviously can help them set up the beach picnic. You approve it. But then they need to come back on board.”

She continued, “If something goes wrong, I need someone who knows what’s going on. It’s a safety thing.” Later, the well-praised chief stew asked Iain if he’d come up with any games for the picnic. Iain let out a flat “No,” adding, “I asked if we were coming up with games and the Captain told me the primary will tell us.” Aesha suggested Iain still come up with a few games.

In a confessional, Aesha shared, “Yeah, Sandy said [the primary] will know what she wants. But that doesn’t mean that she’s supposed to set it up for you and plan everything.” Aesha further criticized Iain by saying, “I think he just heard Sandy say that and thought, ‘Sweet, free pass.’” And Aesha wasn’t the only crew member to criticize Iain. See for yourself.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 continues Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
