Hannah Ferrier is returning to Below Deck Med years after her departure from the Bravo series. The former chief stew will appear alongside fellow alum Anastasia Surmava during Aesha Scott’s bachelorette celebration in Croatia.
The Aug. 24 episode also brings Ferrier back into the same orbit as Captain Sandy Yawn, who fired her during Season 5. Ferrier and Sandy have since addressed their past conflict and reconciled.

In a preview of the episode, Aesha and the Akira One crew travel by party bus while Sandy works with Gael Cameron on a surprise. Once Aesha arrives at the venue, she discovers Hannah Ferrier and Anastasia Surmava waiting for her.
The appearance marks the first return to Below Deck Mediterranean for both women since leaving the show.
Anastasia joined Season 4 as a third stew before temporarily moving into the chef position and later returning to her original role. She worked with both Hannah and Aesha that season.
Hannah continued into Season 5 but left the boat early after Sandy dismissed her. Aesha joined that season after Hannah had already departed The Wellington.
Ferrier previously said she still watched other shows in the franchise but avoided Below Deck Med.
“I don’t watch Below Deck Med,” she told Us at BravoCon in November 2025. “It’s like the only Bravo show that I don’t watch.”
She said the decision was not specifically about Sandy or Aesha because she had watched both of them on other Below Deck shows.
Ferrier also spoke about reconnecting with Sandy before her return.
“I’m in such a calmer and better place in my life now. My daughter has grounded me a lot and I’m just in a very different place than I was 10 years ago when I started Below Deck,” she told Us in April 2025.
Ferrier said Sandy later contacted her about working together again, and the two had a lengthy conversation about their history.
“Just sitting down with Sandy for a few hours and just having a really good honest chat was so cathartic and healing,” Ferrier said.
Their reunion on Below Deck Med came months after that conversation. The surprise appearance also gives fans a chance to see how Ferrier and Sandy interact after putting their past tension behind them.
