Trigger Warning: This article contains discussions of alleged domestic violence in which a child was present.
Dancing with the Stars alum Artem Chigvintsev’s recent arrest was shocking. He was charged with corporal injury to a spouse on August 29, 2024. He was later sprung from jail on $25,000 bail. The identity of the victim in this case has not been released. However, Artem’s wife, Nikki Garcia, has requested privacy during this stressful time. And now Artem is playing around with his Instagram bio.
Artem Chigvintsev deleted Nikki Garcia’s name from his bio … temporarily
Artem’s case is with the District Attorney, and after reviewing all the evidence, the D.A. will decide what charges, if any, Artem will face. As of now, Artem’s arraignment will be on November 4.
Nikki and Artem share a son, 4-year-old Matteo. Sadly, Matteo was present during the alleged incident. Sources previously claimed that the couple’s relationship was prone to periods of being “volatile.” And after this terrible incident, Nikki is reportedly calling divorce attorneys.
So, while Nikki has started moving on from Artem, he made some changes to his Instagram bio. His bio was previously linked to his wife’s Instagram page. But Artem removed Nikki from his bio information. It read, “Father to Matteo, DWTS Pro Dancer, Emmy Nominated Choreographer, DWTS Mirror Ball Winner, SCD Mirror Ball Winner.”
Afterward, Artem added Nikki back in, along with a bride and a black heart. A black heart? That seems ominous as far as the future is concerned. Perhaps Artem is demonstrating remorse and sadness over the state of their relationship. Hopefully, the duo can move on peacefully for Matteo’s sake.
Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars, minus Artem, airs on September 17 at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+.
