Salley Carson thinks that JT Thomas is a great addition to Southern Charm. At least when it comes to bringing the drama. And perhaps his sudden quitting and subsequent showdown at the Season 10 reunion is all the proof needed.
In November 2024, JT announced his withdrawal from filming the rest of the season. He cited conflict with the majority of the Southern Charm cast and feeling ostracized. Though watching this season, it’s easier to see how he brought it upon himself. Salley called his return for the reunion something like a comeback.
Salley Carson “got a lot” off her chest at the reunion
The Southern Charm freshman is hardly new to reality TV, appearing previously on Southern Hospitality and The Bachelor. So she knows what it takes to get ratings. And she told Decider that she thinks JT is gold for producers.
Salley cited JT’s bumbling in the Bahamas during a cast dinner. He managed to ostracize the entire group, save Venita Aspen, and left discreetly the next morning. The robotics technician said that while JT was her “pit of that trip,” it did make for good entertainment.
“Stuff went down. Relationships were fractured. He just doesn’t want to apologize to anyone. And it’s annoying,” Salley said.
Was JT the same at the reunion? He decided to show up after all, and Salley was asked if she was “surprised” by JT’s attendance.
“I wasn’t surprised by it,” she responded. “I kind of figured he would be there. The guy makes for great TV. I really do think that. But he was in the hot seat, for sure. Venita definitely put him in the hot seat. And it was fun to watch it go down.”
When asked if anyone did “get any apologies from him,” Salley admitted that she did not remember. She did state that she “got a lot off” her chest “with JT.”
“Honestly, I started drinking at nine. I can’t remember if he apologized to anyone … I was nervous!” she said.
